Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Valcrum universal threaded aluminum oil bath or grease cap for the 6,000 to 9,000 pound axles. Now this part here replaces the oil bath for the grease cap. The O-ring and the plug on these axles are disc brake kit, works on the 6,000, 7000, and 8,000 pound eight bolt axles, the Dexter 6,000 and 8,000 pound axles with the screw in caps, the Dexter 9,000 pound axles before October of 1989, and also the Lippert 8,000 pound axles and the Kodiak 8,000 pound hub and rotor disc brake kit. This part will include the cap, the watertight O-ring seal, and the magnetic vent plug. It is a direct replacement for these Dexter, Kodiak and Lippert oil caps.
The Dexter 21-35, the K71-038-00, or the 021-029-00. The Lippert part numbers would be 695814 or the 700266 and the Kodiak 8001. Basically this cap functions as either an oil bath or a grease cap. We mentioned the magnetic vent plug right here. If I flip it over, you'll be able to see right in the middle of it has a rare earth magnet on it.
And this will attract damaging metal particles, so it'll help identify problems before they become critical. The body on this cap is anodized aluminum alloy body, has a clear finish on it to resist corrosion. The lens right up here is a clear viewing lens, so you can look at it, look through it, and quickly check the oil level. Over here you can see is this easy to access side port, and that'll let you fill or drain the lubricant without removing the cap. And as we mentioned, the O-ring right here and then the gasket right around the clear lens provides a nice tight seal and it is a threaded cap, so it'll install very easily.
