2004 Jeep Wrangler - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Jeep Wrangler's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2003 Chevy Silverado Behind an RV
Custom fit base plates should not be welded to your 2003 Chevy Silverado. They are not designed to be welded and doing so could compromise the structural integrity of the base plates. Base plates # 3154-1 are not a fit for your truck but we have other options that are. If your truck is a 1500HD, 2500, or 3500 you can use # 3115-1. If it is a 1500 but not a Z71 or HD then use # 199-10 and the front suspension must have coil springs. And if it is a Z71 with torsion bar front suspension use...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder Behind and RV
I double-checked with Roadmaster and base plates # 1169-1 are indeed the correct base plates for your 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. They are actually listed for 2000 to 2003 models. On the 2000 to 2002 models you will need to remove the grill for installation. For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Falcon 2, # RM-520. It is rated for 6,000 pounds so it can handle the MR2 with ease. You will also need safety cables # RM-643. For lighting I recommend a simple magnetic kit # RM-2120 because...

  • Base Plates that Allow Tracker Tow Bar to Store Vertically on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee
If your 1992 Jeep Cherokee has standard mounting brackets (fixed/non-removable) the Tracker, # RM-020, can be stored on the vehicle in a vertical position by inserting a bolt or pin (not supplied) through the tow bar and the rear holes on the crossbar tabs. The fixed base plates for your Cherokee are # 1402-1. For safety cables I recommend # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting I recommend using the Roadmaster # RM-2120. This type of set up bypasses...

  • How To Install Trailer Lights On A Trailer Without Tail Lights
The Roadmaster Deluxe Magnetic Tow Lights part # RM-2120 you are referring to are designed to be placed on the rear of the vehicle in a flat tow situation. If you are wanting to tow a trailer with your 2017 Hyundai Tucson, then you will want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118501 as this will allow you to hook up your vehicle's tail lights to your trailer tail lights while towing. It is also a plug and play connection therefore you will not need...

  • What is Needed to Tow a 2009 Saturn Vue with Tow Bar RM-520
The Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520 would be a good choice to tow your 2009 Saturn Vue, but you will need to install base plates on the vehicle in order for the tow bar to connect to it. The base plates for your vehicle would be XL kit # 3151-1A. I would recommend Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 to wire your RV and vehicle for towing. The # RM-154 page shows some great wiring diagrams that should be helpful for your installation. If your Saturn Vue has separate...

The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 4411-1, is just the first piece of the puzzle to flat tow your 2008 Ford Fusion. Please note that this base plate kit will only work if you have a manual transmission. If you have an automatic, skip to the end. If you do have a manual transmission, there are several more pieces to the puzzle but do not worry, I will help you find the edges. This base plate kit is compatible with tow bars that accept the XL series. I recommend the RoadMaster Falcon 2...

  • Using T-1 Wiring Harness, Part # 118407 for Lighting Vehicle Towed By RV
The T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118407 is designed for towing a trailer behind a 2007 Chevy HHR. It will not work for towing behind an RV, because the harness is designed for output only. To light your HHR while it is towed behind your RV, you have three alternatives. You can use a magnetic mount lighting system, like part # RM-2120. This system is very easy to install and use. It also remains completely independent of the towed vehicles wiring system. For occasional towing, or...

I spoke with my contact over at Blue Ox and he said that # BX1616 base plates are the ones that you can use for your 2003 Chevy S-10 ZR2 and you should be good to go. For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Alpha, # BX7380. This tow bar is rated for 6,500 pounds and comes with safety cables. For lighting I recommend going with a magnetic kit # RM-2120 because it is low cost, easy to set up, and bypasses the vehicle wiring. You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level....

  • Equipment Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Toyota Tacoma X Runner
I did some research, and found that Toyota states that the Tacoma shouldn't be flat towed. There are aftermarket lube pumps that can be installed to keep the transmission lubricated during towing, but they aren't anything we carry. If you were to flat tow this vehicle and damage occurred you would have to pay for it out of pocket. People do flat tow this vehicle despite this information from Honda.
