Are Snow Chains Needed On All Four Wheels Of A 4WD 2008 GMC Envoy
Question:
I have a 2008 GMC Envoy. I would like to have a set of chains onboard for emergency use only. Do I need chains for all 4 wheels or would a pair work on just the front or back? I appreciate your help in this matter.

When using tire chains you will want to use on all four tires to get the maximum traction with your vehicle. If you only use two chains you will want to install them on the drive wheels of your vehicle. On a 4-wheel drive vehicle they would go on the back.
On your 2008 GMC Envoy the typical tire sizes that come on your vehicle is the 245/65R17 or the 245/60R18. The 245/65R17 tire size can use the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains for Light Trucks # PW2014C. If you have the 245/60R18 tire size you will need the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains for Light Trucks # PW2029C. Both of those snow chain part numbers come as 1 pair.
I am sending a link to a FAQ page that will have information on snow chains.
