Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - 60" Long - Black - Aluminum - Qty 2:Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today on our 2019 Ram 1500 classic, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule Wingbar Evo clamp on roof rack system. This system is designed to fit the naked roof of your Ram 1500. You can see I've got it in place here. It's going to allow you to carry roof mounted accessories. Things like bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, and much more. Now the wing bar is 60 inches long.
You can see how it stretches across the entire roof of our Ram 1500. This is great. It's going to allow us to carry more that just one accessory. So maybe a couple bike racks or maybe even a couple kayak carries. Now they're also aerodynamic. These are going to be a lot quieter than your traditional round or square bar.
It's going to reduce the need for a faring. If you still like the look of a faring, you can still pick one up right here at etrailer.com. There's going to work with you standard clamp on accessories. They'll also work with T-slot accessories. You'd just fold the end cap over like that and rather than having to remove or trim that rubber strip, we can just slide that T-bolt right over the top there.
It'll give it that nice clean look.Taking a look at the foot packs, the kit does include four. This is what our wing bar attaches to and this is what's going to hold our roof rack in place on our naked roof. You can see how it is rubber coated here, that way it doesn't harm or scratch that roof. It's also going to help cut down on some of that vibration. Now to access our hardware, it's covered by this cover here. It does include plastic locking cores.
So we can turn that with either a coin or a flathead screwdriver and pop that off. If you'd like to pick up some metal locking cores, maybe to increase security, you can find those here at etrailer.com. So as I said, it does hide our hardware. It's going to protect it from the elements and deter theft. In order to tighten down or hardware, it does include a tool so we can tightened down each foot pack. When it's all said and done, that cover goes back in place and then we can relock it.Now what keeps our foot pack attached to our roof is the clips. These are also included in your kit and they are rubber coated, that way they don't harm or scratch that inside of that door frame. You can see here how they come around to the inside. These are specifically designed to fit your RAM 1500 Classic. So a nice tight fit there and it's not going anywhere. When we close our door it's got a nice snug fit. We don't won't have any interference and that weather stripping just goes around that and has a nice seal. Now this roof rack system does have a weight capacity of 220 pounds. That's a a step up compared to some other roof rack systems out there. You do however want to check with your Ram 1500 Classic's owner's manual to see if your roof can support that much weight. Now I'll give you some clearance measurements. These could help you when, maybe bulling in your garage, your parking garage or even when carrying your accessories on your roof rack system. From the top of our 1500 to the underside of the bar is about two and three quarters of an inch. From the top of the roof to the top of the bar is about four inches. So again just keep these in mind when you're carrying those accessories, or where you're trying to pull into your garage. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. I've already got the front crossbar in place on the Ram 1500 Classic. The rear one installs very similar. Let's go ahead and do it together. I've got one side ready to go, we just need to install the there side. First thing we can do is grab the foot. We'll take of the front cover here. Just pull it off. We'll set that aside. Then we can install our clip. Now, the clips are different from the front and back, so you'll need to be sure that you have the clip that says 273 here on the inside. That's for the rear crossbar. We're going to fit it in place within the foot here. Just slides in and we can use our thumb to press it in place. Once you've got it in place, you give it a good tug and it should not come out. Then on the underside we can grab the pad. Now the pads are also numbered. We'll need to be sure that we have 410. It only goes on one way. Just line it up and then push it in place. Then we're ready to put it on our crossbar. I'm going to turn over my crossbar here and we'll need to slide it into the channel here. So I'm going to scoot it over just a little bit so you can see it a little better. We're going to press in on the two metal tabs here. So it will make that noise there. That's how you know you're doing it correctly. By doing that it's going to allow you to slide it into the channel. When we let go it locks into position. Now we need to set our measurement on our scale. Per our instructions, it's 63 and a half or 63.5. So we can pull it out and look for 63.5. Now it's going to be difficult for you to see, but you just need to find 63 and then go one more line. From there we can take the foot, slide it forward till it meets up with the scale here. That's when we've got it in the right position. With it in place, let's go ahead and put on our end cap. Pretty easy, line it up and then press it in place. Move the table out of the way here. It's a good idea to open up the doors. Then we can set it in the general area. You want to be sure you gently rest in place. Though everything is rubber coated, it's a good idea to just gently rest it down. Now what you can do is you can just grab a tape measure. I'm going to use my cloth tape measure here. Before we take that measurement between the two, let's talk about how we got our front one in place. Now per our instructions, we measure up from the corner of the windshield, seven and seven eighths to the beginning portion of the foot on each side. That gives us our placement. So we went ahead and tightened that down. So get our rear crossbar placement, we take a measurement from the front of our crossbar to the front of the rear crossbar. That measurement needs to be 27 and a half inches on each side. So we'll go ahead and do that now.So we're just a little bit far here. I'm going to move it forward. We're good there. Do the other side and then we can focus on tightening it down. Oh, that one's perfect. Now we can take our included tool. What we need to do here is make sure the clip drops down to the inside of the door frame. We're going to loosen that up a little bit. We're also going to loosen it up on the other side to make sure it's the same way. So you can see here it just needs to fall into the door frame, just like that. Let's go ahead and check that other side. It looks like we're all set there. Now what we want to do is alternate from each side, that way it tightens down evenly. We also need to be sure that the pad is positioned correctly to the curvature of the truck. We could do a few turns here and then a few on the other side. What we're doing now is just taking the slack out of that clip. Now once you get it to the point when it's just about tightened down, a unique thing about our included tool here is it's going to click when it's properly torqued down on each side. Just like that. So we can stop, do the same thing for the other side.Once everything's tightened down, all we got to do is put on our cover, and we're all set. You can lock it up. We're ready to lad up our favorite roof mount accessories and hit the road.So with that being said that's going to complete our test fit of the Thule Wingbar Evo clamp on roof rack system on our 2019 Ram 1500 Classic.

Premium, aerodynamic crossbars attach to Thule feet to create a quiet, stylish roof rack for your vehicle. Dual rubber strips in T-slots let you easily mount accessories - no trimming required. Simple to center and install with integrated scales.Very sturdy. Works well. The attachment to the roof rails on my 2023 chevy suburban works well. The "C" clamp design mechanism holds it tightly and securely in place. No fear of anything coming loose and falling off like other racks I have tried to use.
Favorite bar Thule makes. Super solid.
I've had the roof rack for a year now and we only use it sporadically in the winter to put the ski box ontop of the car but it works great. Very easy to install and remove and very sturdy. Previously I had the kind that bolted into the roof of my SUV and had a terrible experience with that (we lost the rack and kayaks on the freeway and it tore holes in my roof). The clamp style is the only kind we'll get from now on because they are much sturdier and no risk of losing them. Definitely recommend them.
While the instructions were a bit difficult to follow the install videos from etrailer are a blessing to figure out what to expect even if not exact to the letter. Overall product is excellent, use it to haul kayaks and a 18 ft aluminum canoe to and from locations. Would recommend

Quality product, fast shipping, install was a breeze. Glad to have shopped etrailer.
Easy to fit into the feet that are sold separately. No clue why the rubber strip just can't come already attached but it only takes a minute or two to put them on. Make sure before tightening the feet, the bars are even.
I just got my packages and had it installed within the hour very satisfied
No problems installing. The rack is doing fine.
Product was right fit for my vehicle and installed perfectly. Etrailer was knowledgeable and got the goods to me quickly. Enjoyed working with them and will again.
I've owned this roof rack for a year now, and it has served my purposes (carrying my kayak around on my truck) quite well. It was fairly easy to assemble, largely because the entire instruction guide was in pictures.
I have had to retighten the rack a couple of times since putting it on the roof, so I tie the kayak down to the front and back of the truck as well as to the roof rack. I suspect the ocean kayak puts a bit of lift on the roof rack resulting in the loosening.
Easy to install, fit and finish are top notch.
Worked perfectly on my 2020 GMC Sierra. Looks and works great.
This was my first purchase of an expensive roof rack system. I never expected to have the problems I am. Unfortunately it’s so universal that there are gaps that are creating really bad whistling sounds. I wish I could return and get my money back.
Austin was exceptionally helpful.
I have almost always had roof rails on my vehicles. My F150 had no rails and I was nervous about clamp style rack holders given what I tend to carry on top. These have been great and I am positive I have overloaded them numerous times.
I got my packages today and had it installed within the hour looks great very satisfied
Great quality products! Easy installation with properly guided instructions. One of the best tracking information, from ordering to delivery. Would strongly recommend etrailer to anyone looking for roof or hitch bike racks.
I just installed these on my 2015 Odyssey's side rails.
Easy-peasy to install and appears to be quite solid.
Just not sure how tight I need to screw them.
It only took me 30 minutes to assemble and install the Crossroad feet with the 60" WingBar EVO. It will probably take me 10 minutes to move to another vehicle.
I chose the Crossroads for the ease of installation so I can switch them between our two Odysseys. When loosened for removal they also loosen the crossbar (60" WingBar EVO) which makes it so much easier to switch to a vehicle with a different width requirement.
Fits that requirement perfectly.
Will be loading the canoe on top this coming weekend. Looking forward to using these.
Perfect fit
New design makes it much easier to place and remove various accessories.
Seamless ordering and delivery. Video instructions very helpful
The whole experience was freakin awesome.
* Ordered on-line, delivered when promised, all packages were in excellent condition, and all parts were accounted for - no shortages, THANK YOU!
* The Thule roof rack design, quality of materials, comprehensive instructions were really impressive. Everything went together without a hitch and really looks good installed.
* We plan on carrying our 12 1/2' SUP's on the roof rack when we head out to the lakes.
* It saves us time as our SUP's are inflatable, however it takes a bit of time to pump them up once we get there. Now it's just loosen them up and we're ready to go.
Great job etrailer, I would definitely buy more products from your organization!!
Works as advertised. A little wind noise, but not much.
So, etrailer has made the process of buying my 22 ford explorer Thule cargo kit. A couple of issues. 1) the lack of quality was not there the top weather stripping is short and leaves a gap maybe that is the cause of the whistling. I have tried repositioning and the rope trick. No luck. Getting a fairing that will have to dump another 200 to hope this helps.
2) little more thought into strap thickness. The 2nd rail is a little tough to get through the opening in the roof rack.
Seems a little picky about these things, but when you dump 1,400 for a cargo rack system you should be.
Worked Perfect & Secured a very heavy load in extreme weather & off road conditions
