Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Prest-O-Fit Trailhead Exterior RV Step Set here at etrailer. The Trailhead set has a superior grip and traction. It feels kind of like your artificial turf. It's one of the more grittier of Prest-O-Fit step rugs. So if you have like a lot of mud and a lot of dirt, or if you're worried about slipping on your steps, these are really good option for that.

Another thing about this is that it's UV protected. So even if you have the sun glaring down on your rugs, like it is today, you don't have to worry about it fading or losing its durability after awhile. When you do get this dirty, because that's what it's used for. It's really easy to clean off. You can just take this off, hose it off with some water and maybe some soap, if you want to.

Set it out in the sun to dry then you can pop it right back on. This is a universal fit. So this can fit curved steps like what we have here as well as straight steps. Now, the rug itself is 22 inches wide, but it can fit steps of up to 24 inches. Just take note that you will have a little excess space on the end.

As for how deep of a step this can fit. It can fit from 8 inches to 11 inches wide. Something you might be interested in is matching this with your RV rug. But I have here is the Prest-O-Fit Patio Rug. And I think it's a great pair, since you're stepping or relaxing on the rug.

And this will wipe off the dirt and grime from your shoes before you get into your RV. If this does get rained on, or you spill some drinks on it, no worries, because it is mold and mildew resistant. That's also good if you're storing it for a long period of time. Of course, make sure to pack it up clean. Again, you can just hose it off if needed to but then it won't be moldy after long-term storage. Prest-O-Fit has some other exterior step rugs and of the different types, I think this is the roughest, which is great. If you do have a lot of dirt and mud but if you want something that's comfortable to step on with your bare feet, or if you have a little baby puppy paws or like your children like to step on it, this might not be the best option for you. You might want to take a look at their Ruggids or their other designs. Now I do not recommend driving with your RV with these on but they will stay safe and secure with the springs properly secured. So if it's just going to be a quick trip or if you just want to pack up your steps for your overnight camping. You can fold them up and they'll still stay in place. An option for you as well, if you want a more permanent mounting solution is, there is adhesive on the bottom that is connected to your hook and loop strips. So you just stick this strip onto your step and that will allow you to have a little bit more option, when you do mount it. I like to do is, I would stick the adhesive, put that on and also use the springs, that way they really aren't sliding around. Now, we're going to install the rug onto our steps. I already installed 1, 2 already. So we're going to do the third one together. First thing you need to do is to put your rug over your steps, make sure the long strips are in the back. And the short flaps are in the front. Once those are in place, you're then gonna attach your springs. What I like to do is to attach the spring onto the front flap and then attach it as far down the back flap as I can. Notice how when you do start with the front, that allows you to fold it over the back flap, once it is mounted. With all the springs attached, just double check that they are snug on your steps. And once that's good, you're good to go. Right here, I have 3 different exterior RV step rugs. On the top, we have the Prest-O-Fit Ruggids in black. On the middle, we have the Prest-O-Fit Trailhead in brown and here on the bottom, we have the Prest-O-Fit Outrigger in light brown. If you just need an exterior step rug, just for aesthetics or general use, all 3 work really well. They are a universal fit and will fit most steps. Now, they do have some differences between the 3 and each shine for different situations. Here on the bottom, we have the Outrigger. Now, if I'm not sure what kind of situation I'm gonna be in, and I'm just looking for a general use rug, this would be the one I go with. It has the average carpet texture. It's not as abrasive as the other rug options. So if you just want a normal rug without too many frills, I would go with this one. Now the Trailhead is the rough and ready rug. This has sort of an artificial turf texture. So if I'm gonna be going through a lot of dirt, a lot of mud, and I really need to get those off my shoes so they don't get on my RV. This is the one for you. Now, your Ruggids is also soft but it also has texture. So if I have maybe a lot of sand or dirt or gravel but I don't want something too abrasive, the Ruggids is a good option. They do come in different colors. My final thoughts about these rugs is I'm really impressed by how much traction and grip they have. If I am in a really muddy or dirty area, I think these are the best fit. Now, if I want something that's a little bit more comfortable or a bit more smooth, I would go with the other options that Prest-O-Fit or etrailer has but it's really up to you and your situations.
