How To Adjust The Strings On Item # LC786037

Question:

I must not have the Lippert Thin Shade because my shades definitely have cords on both sides which are knotted into the bottom plastic rail. We have a 2020 Northern Lite 10-2 truck camper. I saw the directions for tightening the cord on your site, but its the plastic levers Im worried about breaking in the process. Is there something I can spray on them to move them easier or a certain technique?

OK, yours is a thin shade but it is a different model than the thin shade part number you sent originally. The Lippert Thin Shade Complete Window Kit Item # LC806621 is a complete window kit which does not have strings. The Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade Item # LC786037 is for Thin Shade ready LCI entry doors which does have strings. I contacted Lippert and the only way to adjust the strings is to gain access to the knots under the bottom panel.

The two levers at the bottom need to be slid to the left side. The sill plate inside should lift out. Once removed you will need to remove the two end caps. The knots should be located there. Measure a 1/2" up from the original knots and make a new knot on both strings. Pull the bottom sill of the shade down to the new knots and replace the ends caps.
