Video Transcript for Camco RV Brass Water Pressure Regulator Review

Today well be taking a look at the Camco RV water pressure regulator in brass, part number CAM40055. This brass regulator helps keep the water pressure at a constant 40 to 50 PSI to protect your equipment. A few other features about this water pressure regulator is that its made of a durable brass construction, and it fits three-quarter inch diameter water hoses. Now lets go ahead and show you how you would hook up the Camco RV water pressure regulator. Here what our brass pressure regulator looks like. You can install this on one of two places. You could either put it right here on our city water connection on the back of our RV.

Well take the male end and thread it in, and then well take our male end of our water supply hose and thread it onto that. Now with our water pressure regulator installed weve limited the pressure going into our RV or camper to only 40 to 50 PSI, protecting all the internal lines as well as our faucets and holding tanks. As you can see here, there is an arrow built into the pressure regulator showing you the flow of water. You always want to make sure that the end is on this side and that the flow is on the out, following the arrow to make sure that the pressure regulator works properly. Or you can actually install it at your water supply source, which is probably more the preferred location, that way it protects your hose leading from the water source to your RV or camper.

Youll see here it has a filter screen built in with a rubber washer, keeping out any dirt and other debris from making it into your water lines. So youd simply thread this end onto the male end coming out of your water spigot and then youll take your other water supply hose, take the female end and thread it onto the male end of the pressure regulator. This way with the regulator right at the water supply source our water supply hose connecting our RV or camper is all protected and limited to only 40 to 50 PSI of water pressure. This here is our water spigot. Well thread our regulator onto it and as you can see you would thread on the brass regulator in between your water faucet and your drinking water supply hose.

So the next time youre at the RV park hooked up to their water supply, and youre maybe a little unsure of the pressure thats coming out, Camco has a solution with the Camco RV water pressure regulator in brass, part number CAM40055. .

Works great.

Overall, the products have held up well. That would be the brass fittings. The hoses were not as durable and I have replaced all the fittings with better ones. The filter works well and I am really happy with it. Reminds me, need to clean the sediment filter.

I give etrailer an A- and would recommend them to my friends and family.

Wow! Placed the order during the Christmas holiday season and was hoping to get it by New Year and it came three days before Christmas. It only took four days from the time I ordered and that was with the standard free shipping. The order was exactly as I placed it and the prices were unbeatable. Great company and I would highly recommend them. Not that it matters but I am a retired firefighter and have fairly high expectations and etrailer.com has a customer for life.

Easy to deal with. Discount coupons available of line which Ive used twice in as many months. Technical staff very helpful. Quick delivery, no issues. Great value for the price.

Inexpensive product that is needed and simple to use, I like the flanges so I do not have to use tools on plastic fittings that can break easily with over torque

Not one of the more exciting items that you need for your RV, but a necessity nonetheless. This has worked flawlessly for a year now, so very happy with this purchase. Would definitely buy it again when the need arises.

This is a very well made part. It swivels so that you can easily attach it to the RV and the hose without be an contortionist.
It replaced a cheaper plastic version that was always leaking and so far I am very pleased with it.

  • Recommended Items for RV Waste Disposal
Dumping tanks is probably an RV owner’s least favorite task but truth is it is really not all that bad. You will need the proper connections to your tank, hose, and the waste station connections. There are multiple options of each but I suggest the Camco RhinoEXTREME RV sewer hoses # CAM39867. This will work great to dispose the waste from your RV to the camp sites dump station. And by the way, I recommend not staying connected to the waste tank all the time with valves open as this...

  • Is Camco Brass RV Water Pressure Regulator Harmful or Toxic
Just about every product, if you look at the labels, will have that exact warning on it. That is because it is some sort of law in California (Prop 65). Metals like brass, which is used in the majority of fittings like # CAM40055, contains copper and zinc but in the brass manufacturing process machinists use lead to make the brass easier to work with. The lead content is a very small amount of the total composition. The brass fittings you use everyday will have some degree of lead. If...

  • Input and Output Water Pressure Ratings for Camco RV Water Pressure Regulator
Camco regulator # CAM40055 will provide 40 to 50 psi on the output side. It doesn't have a specific input rating but is designed for high-pressure city water lines. It also does not have a GPM rating (gallons per minute).

  • Semi-Permanent RV Sewer Connections Made To Septic and Fresh Water Supply Needed - 75 Feet
Your fresh water hose is an easy recommendation, I suggest the Camco RV drinking water hose, 5/8" diameter at 75' Long, # CAM22803. This is a reinforced PVC hose for drinking water made of FDA-approved materials and BPA-free. Because you state that you are new to RV living I will make the suggestion that you also use a water pressure regulator, I suggest the Camco RV Water Pressure Regulator, # CAM40055. Please see the attached video for a visual of product. Because inconsistent water...
