Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the JR products propane hose. This is going to be a great hose to connect your auxiliary LP gas cylinder up to your travel trailer's LP system. It can also be used in a dual cylinder setup to combine multiple tanks into your regulator. You'll just need a T or another junction fitting in another hose to get the second tank set up.So when you're looking for propane hoses, I would recommend focusing in on a few things to make sure that it's going to work for your setup.
The first thing is the length. Obviously you want it to be able to run from your point A to point B, whether that's from your auxiliary gas cylinder to your T-fitting or from the primary cylinder to your regulator. Whatever the case may be, you want to make sure that it's going to be able to span that distance. This hose is 15 inches long. So as long as your point A and point B are less than 15 inches apart, you should be good there. It is a rubber hose, so it's going to be very flexible and durable.
It's going to resist kinks and cracking. So, it should hold up well for you. It's got an internal diameter of a quarter of an inch, which is going to be plenty of room for that LP gas to flow through there, to power up those appliances inside your RV or travel trailer. That quarter of an inch inner diameter is pretty standard for most of these hoses. The next thing that you'll want to focus in on are your fittings. So there's lots of different kinds of fittings out there for your propane appliances and hoses. You want to make sure that you're getting the fittings that are going to work with your setup. So we've got two different kinds here.
This one here is our POL fitting. This is going to connect to your LP gas cylinder. So, this will thread into the inner threads of your propane tank valve. Most propane tank valves have inner threads and outer threads. This will thread on the inside to those inner threads.
And because of that, it is going to tighten counter-clockwise, which is a little counterintuitive to those of us who know the righty tighty lefty loosey method. However, it's not going to be that difficult, just focus a little bit more on what you're doing, and you'll be able to get this tightened down. Really, it's not going to be an issue at all. You can see we've got an O-ring here. This is going to ensure a tight seal within our cylinder. And this is going to work for almost all of our propane tank valves. They almost all have the threading on the inside that will be compatible with the POL connection. So, not something that you're really going to have to worry about. It's going to work for almost all your cylinders, so that one's pretty standard. You don't really need to worry about that. As long as plugging it in or putting it into an LP gas cylinder, you should be okay with that fitting. Our other fitting is more hit-or-miss. Sometimes your regulators and other devices will use this sort of fitting. This is a quarter inch male inverted flare end. So an easy way to tell whether you need this fitting or not is to go out and look at your regulator or wherever you're going to be putting this into. If it's got a gold adapter fitting on it, it is almost certainly going to use the quarter inch male inverted flare. So that's a quick rule of thumb to make sure that you're getting the hose that you need. Keep in mind, this hose is designed for LP gas only, so don't use any other kinds of gases or water or anything like that in here, just your LP gas.Of course, LP stands for liquid propane. So just your LP gas. This is UL and CSA approved. So it's going to meet those high quality standards, and it should hold up well, do the job you need it to do, so that you can get that propane to your appliances. Now, if this isn't the hose that you need, maybe you need a longer hose, or you've discovered that you have different fittings. I'd encourage you to come take a look at our other options here at etrailer.com. We've got lots of different propane hoses, different internal diameters, different links, different fittings. Our goal is always to make sure that you get the products that you need to solve your problems, so you can get back to enjoying your time outdoors. We don't want you to just get any product. We want you to get the one that's going to work for you. And that's always our goal. So that's going to complete our look at the JR products propane hose..
