Video Transcript for Review of LubriMatic Grease and Lubricant Tools - Mini Grease Gun - L30100

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com.Today we're taking a look at the LubriMatic Economy Grease Gun.Now this is going to give us a smaller grease gun so we can get into those tighter to reach spots. So it's going to work out well for greasing up the inaudible 00:00:15 on fifth wheel, maybe on your bearing buddies or something on your trailer, but still be small enough to fit into a toolbox or under a compartment on the bottom of your RV or really anywhere that you want to store it.So it comes with the pipe to get that mounted up either to the front. So it goes through the handle like that, or we can remove the screw up here at the top and then have it be a top loaded position as well. So that makes it pretty versatile for getting into those tight, hard to reach spots. To loosen that up, you'll just need a five millimeter Allen wrench or a 3/16 inch. And then this does develop around 4,000 PSI or pounds per square inch of pressure to get that grease pushed in where you need it to go. To load the grease in, this could either be filled with suction or by suction, so it'll pull the grease into the canister, or you can use a cartridge, something like this.

There are a lot of different kinds of grease here at etrailer.com you can find. You just want to make sure that you get one that's going to be a three-ounce cartridge. So, if you're putting in one of those cartridges, you'll want to remove the canister from the top assembly, pull that plunger all the way back, and then push it so that it goes into the little slot. Kind of hard to see that, but pull it all the way out. Again, I turn towards me so I can actually do it. So whenever it slides into that slot, it'll hold that plunger out.

Then you just take the cap off one side, put that in our canister, and then you'll want to remove the foil up the top as well before you get that push all the way in. And then just thread that in place. And with this one, you might have to remove this little metal piece. I'm not sure if it's going to fit in there all the way, but just wanted to kind of demonstrate how that's going to go, but you will just thread that all the way down and then you can release that plunger. And it'll push that grease up in and then push it into place where you need it.As far as the size with that pipe facing towards the front, it's about 8 inches long and about 10 inch tall.

We just go to the outside of the handle there, it's about 4 inches wide. Canister is about 1 inches in diameter. We have this just threaded in at the top. It's about 16 inches tall, roughly,But that's going to do it for our look at the LubriMatic Economy Grease Gun..

I bought this specifically to grease my mountain bike and it's worked well so far. I have a regular grease gun but wanted something more compact and less expensive and didn't want to mess with swapping out a different kind of grease for another application. The product is solid and doesn't leak using marine grease. The adapter for my bike zerk fittings doesn't fit perfectly but I believe that is the fault of the adapter. Overall I'm pleased with the product.

Perfect size to put in a small toolbox. Worked very well. Instructions were a little sketchy, but if you've used a grease gun before you don't need them. Knurled surfaces make assembly and disassembly very easy.

by:

Works like advertised. Easy to load and use and my trailer is humming along nicely.

Nice little grease gun to keep in the camper. I gave my first one away with the camper I just sold so I bought a new one for my new camper.

See what our Experts say about this LubriMatic Lubricants Sealants Adhesives

  • Replacement Double Lip Grease Seal for National Seal 471750
It looks like the National 471750 grease seal has an outer diameter of 1.983 inches and an inner diameter of 1.25 inches. The replacement grease seal that we offer is part # 34823. This is a double lip grease seal that is best suited for marine applications such as a boat trailer and it fits hubs that use the same bearing and race combination and spindle size that you mentioned. If you also need new grease, I recommend picking up our LubriMatic Marine Trailer grease # L54FR which includes...

  • Hub and Bearing Kit for 1991 Shorelandr Trailer
I did some research, and based off of the Shorelandr part number you gave me ss818, is for a 1-1/16 INCH X 1-1/16 INCH Hub and bearing kit with 1/2" wheel studs and a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles # 8-258-5UC1-EZ you referenced is the correct replacement, but I understand needing the parts asap. The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K has all the same specifications, so it will work...

  • Troubleshooting Stiff New Hubs on Trailer
It is not unusual for the hubs to be a little stiff at first. You will also want to make sure the wheels and bearings are well greased. I have included a link to a video that shows how to pack bearings with grease by hand. We also have a tool that can be used, # L70025, that you can use with a grease gun, # L30100, to limit the mess. I have also linked a grease compatibility chart for future reference.

  • Bearing Buddy Grease Cap for Hubs on Box Trailer
When you re-pack a hub with fresh wheel bearing grease you do not need to also pack grease into the interior of the standard grease cap like # RG04-020. If you packed the bearings by hand or used a packing tool like # ALL647646 the bearings themselves will have a good amount of bearing grease and there would be no way for any grease put into the grease caps to get into the bearings. This is why there are Bearing Buddy grease caps like # BB1980A-SS that have a zerk grease fitting with a...

  • Trailer Hub Assembly And Spindle Recommendations For 2000 LB Axle
You are correct. The parts you listed, Trailer Hub Assembly, part # 8-258BTUC1, and TruRyde Trailer Spindle, part # TRU97FR, will work well together. You will want to make sure your wheel shave a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure the bolt pattern on your wheels. These are designed for a 2,000 lb trailer axle. You want to make certain the spindle is installed by a certified welder. The new spindle must be absolutely square with the axle...

  • Replacement Idler Hub For Dexter 8-258 Hub To Be Used With a Boat Trailer
The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-258-5UC1-EZ is the direct replacement for the hubs that you have currently. Since it is for a boat trailer you will be better with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K. This is a galvanized hub that will better resist the corrosion from water than the painted Dexter hub. Be sure to use LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR to fill the bearings and hub when you assemble them on the boat trailer. The...

  • How to Load Grease Gun Cartridge Into LubriMatic Economy Size Mini Grease Gun
Make sure that the nozzle for the LubriMatic Economy Size Mini Grease Gun # L30100 is on nice and snug. Then you pull the plunger back, remove the cap from your grease cartridge and insert that into the grease gun tube with the end where the cap was at facing the plunger. Before connecting the tube back to the top piece be sure to either remove or poke a hole in the aluminum/foil piece on your cartridge. If you didn't take that last step then that would be the issue. Once the tube is connected...

  • Will Bearing Buddies Fit Trailer Hub Assembly for 2K Axles AKIHUB-440-2-1K
You don't have to have Bearing Buddies for hub # AKIHUB-440-2-1K but you can use them if you want to (as long as the spindle the hubs go onto does NOT have a grease zerk fitting at the very end). You would need 1.98 bearing protectors such as # BB1980A-SS, # BB1980A, or # KREB1980AC. Then to fill the hubs (and bearings) with grease you would use a grease gun such as # L30100 and grease such as # L54FR. If you don't want to use bearing protectors you will need to pack the bearings by hand....

  • Does LubriMatic Mini Grease Gun Require A Cartridge For Use
The LubriMatic Mini Grease Gun # 30-800 like the part # L30-132-07 are not designed for a direct grease fill. It is designed to use the 3-oz cartidges like part # L54FR. We do have grease guns that can be filled with suction or use a cartridge. They are part # L30100, part # L30-192, and part # L30193.

  • Is it Necessary to Grease the Hubs on a G-45 Tipper
If is has wheels and bearings then it's going to need grease (or oil if it is an oil bath hub). I have included a link to a video that shows how to pack bearings with grease by hand. We also have a tool that can be used, # L70025, that you can use with a grease gun, # L30100, to limit the mess. Also, you have to make sure that the grease used is compatible with the grease still on the bearings and in the hub. If you are not sure then you will need to completely remove the old grease before...

  • How To Remove Grease Gun Cartridge That Is Stuck
I contacted Plews and the only suggestion they can give to remove a stuck cartridge is to try to remove it with a pair of pliers. They also mentioned their grease guns like part # L30100 are not compatible with Mystic grease cartridges. You also want to make sure you are not putting the grease cartridge in upside down because that would cause it to become stuck. The foil pull tab should be facing the top of the grease gun and the cardboard side down.

  • Bearing Kit Options For Tracker Pontoon Boat Trailer With Bearing L44649 & Dexter 010-019 Seal
Based on what you gave me I can narrow it down to one of two bearing kits for your Tracker boat trailer. Since you mentioned L44610 that means one of the bearings is L44649, and when combined with the Dexter 010-019-00 grease seal, that leaves two options. One is for a 3,500 lb axle and the other is for a 2,200 lb axle, so you can check and see what your axle rating is, which will help decide: - 2,200 lb Axle: Bearing Kit, L44649 Inner/Outer Bearings, 10-60 Seal # BK1-150 - 3,500 lb Axle:...

  • Recommended Bearing Buddy and Bearing Kit for Malone MicroSport Trailer
The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G does have the 1.98 inch inner diameter hub. I confirmed this with the manufacturer. To add bearing buddies, you simply need the # BB1980A for chrome or # BB1980A-SS for stainless steel. You will not need to replace the bearings to install these caps. You can simply use the LubriMatic Economy Size Mini Grease Gun # L30100 and add the marine trailer wheel bearing grease # L54FR that matches what the axle comes with. • Safe Grease Gun Pressure for Filling Hubs with Grease on EZ Lube Spindles
Care should be taken when loading grease into a hub that is installed on an EZ-Lube spindle. It is very easy to over-fill the hub and apply too much pressure and blow out the grease seals. Even the double-lip seals like # 34823 used with EZ-Lube hubs can be blown out from excess grease pressure. The standard grease guns we offer top out at a maximum pressure of 7000-psi, but many are rated for lower pressure, such as # ALL940798 (4500-psi) and # L30100 (3000-psi) and it's cartridges...
