Replacement Idler Hub For Dexter 8-258 Hub To Be Used With a Boat Trailer
Question:
I would like to have a direct equivalent replacement for a Dexter MTA 13 8-258 225 all stamped on current hub. This is off of a tandem-axle boat trailer. If you have a recommendation for a marine grade hub assembly, Id sure appreciate it. Thanks!

The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-258-5UC1-EZ is the direct replacement for the hubs that you have currently. Since it is for a boat trailer you will be better with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K. This is a galvanized hub that will better resist the corrosion from water than the painted Dexter hub.
Be sure to use LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR to fill the bearings and hub when you assemble them on the boat trailer. The LubriMatic Economy Size Mini Grease Gun # L30100 is an small light grease gun to keep with the boat trailer for ensuring the bearings are packed.
