This king pin lock has a disc tumbler locking mechanism. Unlike locks that use vulnerable spring-loaded pins, this ultra-secure lock is bump-proof. The cylinder has a series of rotating discs that can be correctly lined up only when you turn the corresponding key. Two identical notched keys are included to operate the lock. Because these keys feature 1 of nearly a million possible key codes, it's extremely unlikely that another individual will have a key that can open this lock.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this Amplock King Pin Lock. This is a tamper resistant, very sturdy lock, that's going to surround and latch onto the kingpin of your trailer to help prevent any potential thieves from hooking up. This is going to help deter anyone from trying to steal your 53 foot commercial fifth-wheel trailer. Our opening here is just shy of 3 inches wide, it's 2 7/8 of an inch wide. Right, just shy of 3 inches tall, it's 2 15/16 of an inch tall, so it is going to fit that standard fifth wheel-kingpin.
And the conical design here, is also going to help hinder thieves from trying to use chains, because the chains should just slide down the sides there. So a really nice option to help deter thieves from hooking up and taking off with your trailer. This does have two locks, one on either side, so it is going to be twice as secure, in theory. Each lock is going to be covered by one of these twist covers here, so very easy to access, but then it will close up to prevent any dirt and debris from getting in there, and causing any problems with your lock. The locks themselves are a rotating disc tumbler.
That's going to provide maximum security for you, so it is going to resist picking and drilling to hold up really well for you. You can see it does have this push and lock cylinder. That's going to pull out here when it's unlocked and then push in and it will lock in place. You can lock it in place even without the key, so it will be very easy to get hooked up, and then just put the key in, give it a couple of twists to pull it back out again. You do get four keys with this lock because you're going to have a lock on both sides.
Both locks are keyed alike, so these are four of the same key, so you just need one at a time, or if you need two to make sure that it's not going to move on you as you're unlocking it, unlock both sides at once. This is constructed of a nice heavy duty cast iron construction. So it's going to hold up really well for you, will absorb shock to help prevent any braking. It's going to resist cutting, including with torches or liquid nitrogen, so it's going to hold up really well, be very sturdy and trustworthy for you. It does have an Ecoat finish to help resist corrosion.
So again, it will last you a nice long time. You can see, we do have those small holes on the bottom there to help any moisture drain out, and so it's not just sitting there potentially corroding your king pen. So, really nice option for those of you who have those 53 foot long commercial fifth-wheel trailers, and you're wanting to add a little bit of extra security so that you don't have to worry about anyone coming along, taking off with your trailer. Securely locks my kingpin. Heavy metal gives me that extra confidence when I leave my 5th wheel at the storage place and at campgrounds.

Quality, fit, and easy to use. Hopefully one of the best theft deterrents on the market by other reviews. Think the manufacturer should do a video on how difficult it is to defeat this lock it might help to justify the price.
Tried 2 other brands. They wouldn’t fit. Then I realized the catch plate might be the cause. Tried this one and went right on like a glove eTrailer was great on my return on first attempt.
Great lock! Your rv will be safe from thieves with this on your 5th wheel. It is VERY heavy and well made. Sometimes you have to hold your mouth just right when taking on and off,

Works great, the only thing I fear is losing the key.
Fit very well. Just had a little problem with the key # and key code. Doesn't designate which is which. Also, the warranty did not have my product listed on drop down list. But other than warranty registration all is great. Customer service was prompt and attentive.. amp lock received before expected delivery date.

I love this. It is definitely made for the Pullrite and the capture plate. Nice fit and it looks great instead of those gaudy yellow locks. This makes me feel as though my trailer is nice and secure too.
I was a bit skeptical purchasing online, but it fits our Pulltrite Capture Plate like a champion!!
