So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

100 happy with the trans cooler and adapter set. Temp stays nice and cool. Puts me at ease when towing my trailer.

by:

worked great doing the job it is designed for

by:

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

by:

Just received my order today. I haven't installed the parts yet. They appear to be high quality though.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

by:

Great product, very happy with it. Etrailer shipped it right away.

by:

Does exactly what it is intended to do. It keeps the temp down while towing. Very easy to install as well.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For 2007 Chevrolet 3500 Express Van
The transmission cooler I recommend for your 2007 Chevrolet Express is the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler, part # D13503. This is a Class lll cooler and will work great with your Express. You will also need the radiator adapter fittings, part # D13018. The first thing you would need to consider is the size of the cooler. Generally, the bigger the cooler the better. The next thing to check out is the mounting location. I have attached a drawing of the best mounting locations...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 6.0 Liter
Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, but you do not have to replace the factory one unless there is something wrong with it. You can add an additional cooler to work with the factory cooler for the optimum amount of cooling. When looking at transmission coolers I recommend going with the largest one that will fit in the available space in the engine compartment. There are 3 main locations a cooler can go: the most efficient is in front of the air conditioner condenser core/directly...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System For 1997 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 w/ 10,000 lb Towing Capacity
Your 1997 Suburban K2500 4x4 has a 10000 lbs max trailer weight according to your owner's manual, so you cannot pull a 12,000 lb fully loaded trailer. You can pull the 12,000 lb capacity trailer at a maximum load of 10,000 lbs. There are hitches that are available as you stated that rated higher than your vehicle capacity. Unfortunately that only means that the trailer hitch receiver can handle that weight, not that your vehicle's transmission, engine, and suspension can handle that weight....

We do offer Derale transmission coolers for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body with the 4.3L engine. These are shown on the linked page. For an efficient Class III transmission cooler you can use Derale # D13503 which you will install using the required hose fitting kit # D13018. These install directly into your radiator so you'll not need to cut or flare any fluid lines. Please refer to the linked video to see how this cooler installs. To determine what kind of transmission cooler you will need depends on how much weight you will be towing and where you will be towing. Also, you will also want to measure the area in front of the AC condenser to see what size cooler will fit on your 2007 Chevy. I am sending a link to a FAQ page that will give you information on transmission coolers. The GTW rating is the Gross Towing Weight capacity. This is the weight of the trailer, including the load in the trailer. This will help...

Part # D13018 comes with a quantity of 2 which you will need to install a transmission cooler on your vehicle. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 6.0 L Engine
A supplemental transmission cooler would definitely help your transmission last as long as possible. As you may know, heat is the enemy for transmissions. The Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler part # D13504 that you referenced would be an excellent choice for you. I would recommend you run this in conjunction with your factory cooler to maximize cooling efficiency. You would to run the output of your factory cooler to the # D13504 and then the output side of the cooler back to your...

  • 1999 Chevy C3500 Transmission Will Not Shift Into Overdrive While Towing
Overdrive is not usually something that you would need to use when towing. Also if your truck has a tow/haul button that you press when towing then it likely shuts off overdrive. If this is something new the truck started doing then there are some things to look at. The first thing I recommend doing is checking the transmission fluid level for your 1999 Chevy C3500. If the fluid is low then it might not have enough cooling power. If the fluid is full and looks good then the cooler you...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation and Install Instructions for a 1996 Chevy Express Van
I would recommend the largest cooler that will easily fit in front of the air conditioning condenser on your 1996 Chevy Express Van. In your case the Derale Class IV, Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13504, would be the one that I would go with, but you will need to measure to be sure there is room for it to install in front of the A/C condenser. • Can I Replace The Factory Transmission Cooler on a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado
In regards to your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, if you will be removing the auxiliary transmission cooler then I recommend using the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 to replace it. This cooler measures 11" wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep which you should have plenty of space for. Since the transmission line running into the radiator is a hard line, you will need to install a short length of 11/32 I.D. hose like # D13003 between the two fittings. • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). Yes, you can bypass the auxiliary transmission cooler on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 but you will need an adapter to do so, the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018 which goes straight on the radiator and allows you to hook up the new lines without any splicing.
