This T-connector wiring harness uses your factory tow package to add a 7-way socket in your truck bed while also retaining the use of the 7-way at your vehicle's bumper. The harness plugs into the back of your 7-way at the bumper and also into your factory wiring. And it provides 10 feet of cord to run the second 7-way connector to your truck bed. Installing a second 7-way connector in your truck bed makes it easy to connect the 7-way plug from your fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer.

A great purchase. Had a bit of paint chipping but that should be expected when one orders heavy items. Ultimately the hitch fit perfectly as advertised. The installation instructions where easy to understand and led me through the installation step by step

They are doing there job after a year and around 29,000 miles. I have pulled my 5th wheel couple times but pull my 42' Flaubert hauling farm and ranch supplies to the stores. In all this time not once have I had any problems and I did dismantled my 5th wheel for maintenance and there was no signs of any wear.

From drilling a hole in the side of my bed and plugging in the wires it was like 30-45 minutes. And no problem of any kind. Got close to 50,000 miles on them.

Absolute piece of cake installation (2008 Tundra) ! Nice price and decent quality. Installation instructions specified a 2 1/8 inch hole saw, but I used a 2 inch hole saw, because I already had that item. Just to note, a 2 inch hole is large enough for installation of plug, but not large enough to pull the plug connector harness through. This will only be a problem if the plug is mounted at a location with limited access from the back side. In my case, I could easily reach the rear of the plug to make the connection with the plug harness (we'll see how easy it is to unplug if problems arise, though).

Still wonderful! After a year of use, the Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring harnes- HM43397 has proven to be a really good investment. Having the trailer electrical connector in the truck bed, rather than under the rear bumper, is a superior idea - connection point is easier to make, and most importantly, the connection point remains free of road dust, mud, salt, etc.! Also, the re-located connection point is safer and easier on the trailer wire & plug. Well worth the price!

Toyota Tundra

What a good buying experience on my B&W gooseneck hitch and towing accessories for my Toyota Tundra. First of all, the pricing was good on all my items. Second, free shipping. Third great customer service and recommendations during the purchase process and then followup at shipping.

Next day I realized that I had forgotten to get a suspension enhancement item I also wanted so called back. No problem, they would add it to my original shipment for just $x.xx extra.

All the items arrived very well packaged. Based on etrailer.com's great videos on 'how to install on YOUR particular vehicle' series, I was able to install all the components myself. I would not have attempted the hitch without that video so I saved a bunch there due to their video's. THANKS etrailer.com!!!

Great fit. Versital mounting options. If you install it in the side of your truck bed, check for body panel supports. I had to drill down through a lateral support to fish the harness through.

Very easy to install and works great. No problems with the instructions, just plug and play. Quick shipment.

  • Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck 7-Way Wiring Options for 2012 Toyota Tundra
For your 2012 Toyota Tundra both harnesses will work technically. We were able to install the part # 41157 on a 2012 Tundra like you mentioned (see attached link) as this is a universal kit that will basically fit any truck with a standard 7-way. The part # HM43397 also is a fit and uses the Toyota connectors. Basically this installs and does the same thing but plugs into an intermediate harness and the # 41157 plugs into the 7-way itself.

  • Towing Bumper Capacity of 2007 Toyota Tundra w/ 5.7L Engine
According to the owner's manual, if a trailer ball is installed in the OEM bumper of your 2008 Tundra, the capacity maxes out at 5000 lbs. This assumes that the bumper, the brackets attaching it to the frame members and the frame members themselves are in good condition. Generally speaking, a bumper mounted trailer ball is best used for shorter distances because the ball typically sits higher than the 17 inch average trailer coupler height. If the trailer is towed more than a couple of...

  • How To Add In-Bed 7-Way to 2008 Toyota Tundra For 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Towing
It sounds like you are simply looking for an in-bed gooseneck/fifth wheel trailer wiring harness for a 2008 Toyota Tundra and if that is the case we have a great option for you in the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness part # HM43397. This harness will plug into factory ports under the truck so you don't have to do any splicing and you can still retain the 7-way at the bumper.

  • Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness for 2008 Toyota Tundra
The Hopkins Fifth Wheel Hitch Install Kit, part # HM43397 will work just fine with your 2008 Toyota Tundra and your Reese Fifth Wheel. This harness is long enough to reach into the bed, but not so long where you would have a lot of excess to bundle. Plus, if the female connector that bolts to the bed were to break it can be replaced.

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Installation Kit for a 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax 4x4 TRD
Fifth wheel trailer hitch installation kit # RP30035-309 will fit all bed lengths of the 2007 Toyota Tundra. I recommend a step up using # RP30047. This is a 16K hitch with a double jaw instead of a slide bar. You will have better contact with the king pin for less movement and noise. If your truck has the 5-1/2 foot bed then you will have to use a Sidewinder in order to make tight turns and will require wedge kit # SWW-03. In order to determine if there is a Sidewinder that will fit...

  • How to Identify a Trailer Connector on a 2009 Toyota Tundra
If your 2009 Toyota Tundra came with the factory tow package, then it should have a 7-way round trailer connector attached to the bottom of the rear bumper to the left of the trailer hitch (see photo). I recommend looking at the back of your truck to see if you have the factory 7-way trailer connector. If your truck does not have a 7-way trailer connector and you are sure your truck was equipped with the factory tow package, there should be two connectors under the vehicle near the frame...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendations for 2007 Toyota Tundra Long Bed
If by 'long bed' you mean an 8 foot bed, no you will not need a sliding fifth wheel hitch to tow your Cougar 27sab Xlite. However, if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed, you would indeed need a sliding hitch like the # 16516 Curt E16 fifth wheel hitch w/ slider you mentioned. The non-sliding version of the E16 is part # C16115. This being said, the E16 uses a slide bar type jaw that will allow the fifth wheel's king pin to rattle and bang around in the hitch. A LOT. It will hold the king pin...

Since your Tundra has a 4-way connector you can use a Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 to convert your existing 4-way to a 7-way connection. Some vehicles are equipped with a T-One Connector that is very easy to use and you simply plug the connector into the existing wiring harness plugs on your vehicle and then you can establish a 7-Way connector. Currently for your 2007 Toyota Tundra we do not have a compatible fit for a T-One style connector and your vehicle. The new 7-way will supply...

  • Can a 2011 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 Foot Bed Tow a 27 Foot 5th Wheel Trailer
Whether or not you will need a slider hitch depends on how wide the trailer is. Most likely you will need a slider to be able to make tight turns without the trailer hitting the truck. With an installation kit such as # RP50084-58 installed on your 2011 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 foot bed the centerline of the hitch will be approximately 1-3/4 inches forward of the center of the rear axle. Measure from that point to the back of the truck cab. That measurement has to be at least 4 inches more...
