Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your trunk, behind the side trim panels. You will have to remove the rear scuff panel and felt trunk liner to access these connection points.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

I prefer a more professional look.
Directly below the driver side taillight there is a plastic pressure equalizing vent. Use a pair of wire cutters and snip enough of the louver to feed the plug through. You can then run the wire and attach it to the receiver via zip ties or fabricate a bracket. All wires are 100% hidden from view and no risk of damaging the wiring over time by shutting the trunk on it.
Great product, easy to install (and deinstall if necessary)
I made a wire puller from a clothes hanger (loop one end, little hook on the other).
I found it useful to push loop end up from spare area behind carpet.
Tape two connectors of curt harness together and then hook on coat hanger and pull up to tail light.

Fantastic product, had it installed in less than 10 minutes.
I just installed the wiring kit and it was EASY. I accessed the tail light plug-ins by removing the covers, and then removed the back trim panel and from there it was mostly plug things in. Instead of taking the side trim loose I just pushed the wires in behind the trim panel then pulled it up and plugged them into the tail lights.Of course I had the ground wire to attach and I just put it under a tail light retaining nut. I had the job done so quick I forgot to take pictures. My dachshund helped me with the job. He was in the trunk pestering me for attention. You want a picture of him? Hope you get your wiring done quickly too.
I ordered this product for my 2015 Sonata. I tow a small utility trailer on an infrequent basis and needed to connect to the trailer lights. This product was GREAT. Total installation time was 30-45 minutes. The bulk of the time is spent carefully removing/installing the plastic panels inside the trunk.
The electrical installation was extremely simple. Just disconnect the vehicle wiring harness connector at the taillight junction and then insert the trailer wiring harness connectors. Click, Click, done. It is the same process for the passenger and driver sides. The wiring is color coded for each side. Then there is one wire to connect to the body/chassis ground. Final step is to use the provided double sided tape to attach the electrical module to the body under the trunk panels.
For my trunk panels, there are six "screws" your remove. Four are removed by hand, one with a phillips head screwdriver, and one you have to pull out. The instructions show you the basics but I recommend you go slow and take your time and when you remove & replace the panels.
I ordered a draw Tite hitch and wiring harness for my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport. The hitch and harness came very well packaged with all the parts supplied. I have not had time to install
the hitch so can't tell you how the install went.
I will write another review when I can get it done.

Love this item. Installed on a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, vehicle sits low so the rise on this was perfect. Installed with the Curt wiring harness #C56247 and the Drawtite Sportframe receiver #24940. Works excellent together.

Gotta be one of the easiest wiring harness I've installed. Dont need to run a positive connection to the battery. Took maybe 10-15 minutes to install
Easy to install but this is the third car I've done it on so should be easy. Only complaint is the wires between the two tail lights could be longer. Then it would fit under carpeting.
Product was delivered rapidly. Instructions was clear and the video very helpful. So I install it with a friend and save lot of money.
This couldn't have been easier to install. I did it by myself without any issues.

The double face tape was dried out and did not stick. Otherwise it worked and installed well.
