Video Transcript for Review of GSI Outdoors Camping Kitchen - Camping Stove - 37356004

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the glacier canister camp stove by GSI Outdoors. This is a rugged, low maintenance camp stove that is going to connect to your isobutane fuel cartridge. On the bottom there, it's going to provide a nice heat source to cook your meals at your campsite or while you're on the trail. It is pretty compact in size, so it would be easy to take along with you, whether that's in your backpack or with all of your other camping gear.

It does have a high output for your heat, so it is capable of 12,970 BTU or just under 13,000 BTU, so it will heat up your food very fast, which is obviously a benefit when you're out camping. You don't want to spend all your time cooking. You'd rather spend that time eating or enjoying the outdoors. It does have these nice wide potholders. Overall dimension there, it's going to be right about five inches so it's going to be able to hold up to five inch diameter pots and pans. It is only about three and one quarter of an inch tall.

Again, very compact, easy to carry. Now it does not come with the fuel canister. That can be purchased separately. GSI does advise using their branded isobutane fuel cartridge, but really, if we're being honest, just about any of your isobutane canister with your lindal valve here should work for you. Of course, all those fuel canisters are made with slightly different compositions in them.

It's understandable GSI can't guarantee that any other manufacturers is going to be a good quality, but most of them that you find at the store should be pretty reputable and do a good job for you.We do have the micro control valve here that's going to allow us to control how much of our gas we're letting through. It's nice to have that feature and we do have a nice wide burner head here that's going to spread out the heat evenly across the base of our pots and pans. Overall, nice little camp stove here and just heat up your water or whatever else you're cooking there at your campsite. It only weighs about 5.9 ounces, so it's very lightweight, easy to transport. It also comes with a storage bag so that you can easily pack it into your backpack or what have you.

Storage bag looks like this, so just to this nice little cloth bag here that you can set this and make sure that it's not getting caught on any of your other gear and little draw string there. It's going to be nice and compact. Easy to take with you. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty so you can trust that if you we're to have any problems with it, you could give us a call. We'd help you out with that, but overall, I think this is going to be a great option for you if you're going out on the trail or going camping, and you just want a simple little stove to heat up your food, I think this can be a good solution for you. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

  • Recommended Lightweight Camping Stove To Use With The GSI Outdoors Camping Toaster GSI93MV
Yes, we do offer a small camp stove that will work great with the GSI Outdoors Camping Toaster # GSI93MV. I recommend the # GSI Outdoors Glacier Backpacking Stove # 37356004. This is a stainless steel gas stove that attaches to the top of a disposable isobutane propane canister. It has a heat output of 12,970 Btu/h so you will for sure be able to make some really good crisply toast with your camp toaster. I bet your could make a pretty good grilled cheese with it too (is it lunchtime yet?)...
