Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And we're going to be looking at the GSI Outdoors Tea Kettle. This is a nice addition to have in your camping pack or your camping gear. So you can brew some hot water for cooking some maybe instant noodles, or maybe having tea, coffee, whatever you might want to have while you're off the grid.So let's take a little closer look at it and see if this is going to be the right piece for you. Something that is nice about this is that it is made of an anodized aluminum construction.
So it's nice and lightweight, but still very durable. The shell also helps to distribute the heat evenly across the entire kettle. And it also withstands any kinds of scratches or abrasions. It should last for a long time. Comes with the lid.
You can see there's a little handle to that and also a little spot at the top so it should whistle whenever it's boiling. Inside is nice and coated as well so it should resist any kind of corrosion or anything like that. Especially being an aluminum construction. The handle makes it easy to transport and also folds down, so it makes it a little bit more compact. Same with the little tiny handle on the top of our lid.So all in all, it helps you to boil that water.
And it also is going to be more efficient than boiling with a titanium kettle. Just helps you distribute the heat better. As far as the size, overall we're looking at about six and a half inches in diameter with the spout, also at the widest point there. Total height is about three and three quarter inches going to the top edge of that handle. And the actual kettle itself is just about six inches in diameter, so that spout just comes out a little bit further.
Weighs just seven ounces so about half a pound. And it is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. One thing that I will note. This is meant to be used with a cookstove instead of an actual open campfire. So you don't want to have this going directly over a flame. But it should be able to withstand being on a cooktop. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the GSI Outdoors Tea Kettle. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right piece for you. We do have a lot of other accessories and kitchenware here at etrailer.com for all kinds of camping needs.
