A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

how to find the right tie down for my truck - custom camper tiedown

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

Well fabricated but the paint of them is trash. They are rusting after less than a year. For the price they really should be powder coated to provide a more durable finish.

by:

No 2022 offered so I ordered 2021 and they fit fine, tuck under body nicely…

by:

Had to drill and extra hole and made a few modifications to the rear bumper but it is all going well.

A little tougher to install than the front ones but not too bad. Torklift tie downs are very well made, tried he bumper attached one but I guess bumpers aren't what they used to be I saw bending at the tie down after one trip. So bought these. Entrailer as usual priced well and fast shipping.

Tommy C recommended the TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs. The Instructions are great and very easy to follow. They supply some cool wire helpers to hold bolts in the frame for you. All went very smoothly and a very secure. I love how solid the Camper feels on the truck.

by:

Got the tie-downs today. Shipped quickly. There is an extrusion ridge on the inside of the square tubing my hitch was made from. I had to file that out. Once done, everything slipped together like an Erector-Set project. Whole thing took 20 minutes. Very pleased.

by:

Easy to install. Took less than an hour with no helper. They are very sturdy and I expect them to last.
2020 RAM 3500 with OEM hitch.

by:

The package arrived very quickly and intact. I have a 2020 Ford F250 SD Lariat short bed with a factory hitch. The tie-downs were really easy to install although the hitch adapter plate (see attached photo) which is supposed to attach to the end of the tie-down would not fit inside the tubing on my factory installed hitch so I installed without it and it is tight and snug

by:

The drivers rear didn't get built correctly. the hole to put the tie done is missing. I had to drill a hole into the tie down so I could use it. Didn't notice the problem until I went to put the camper on my pickup. The other three are fine.

by:

The rear tie downs do not extend out far enough to avoid the dully rear fender and has damaged the paint on the fender.

by:

My brother installed these and he used air tools. The brackets fit perfectly. The instructions were thorough. They bolted right in and the only delay was the disconnect/reconnect of the e-brake cable to install the driver's side bracket (2019 RAM 3500). After all the parts were laid out, he installed all 4 brackets in an hour.
He commented many times on the weight, high quality and PERFECT FIT of these brackets. These are worth the price and made in the USA.

by:

I bought this when my previous belly bar and rear tie-down bent badly when our truck slid off the road into a steep ditch and our camper nearly tipped sideways off our truck. This product is a bit better then my old set up, but I expected something much better for this very high price. It wasn't too tough to install, despite the poorly written instructions. Also, the kit did not include a bolt fisher for the 7/16 bolt. The bolt fisher supplied was for a 1/2 inch bolt. Fortunately I had the correct bolt fisher from a previous project. I am also disappointed that the tie down hole has a slot cut in it which seems would significantly weaken it. I am not optimistic that the tie-down point will not bend or break if we have a similar significant side load such as when we slid into the ditch. I will probably weld the slot in the tie-down point shut to strengthen it.

by:

The Superhitch is an amazing product. Had a couple now. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Purchasing from E-trailer is very easy and they delivered the product quickly.

by:

Product was easy enough to install, works as designed, very happy. Shipping boxes continue to be an issue, not up to the job!

by:

Torklift tie downs work great!

by:

Frame mounted tie downs that attach to the reciever. No holes to drill!

by:

I think it is a great product but expensive. In retrospect I could not do what I wanted with the truck and hitch so I spent the money needlessly. Not any fault of your company. I would have been just as well to leave the stock OEM and not spent the money anyway. Live and learn.

by:

This is my second set for the TorkLift tie-downs, and I would not use any other type. We use it daily; our camper never comes off as we are constantly on the move. In the event we have to remove it for vehicle service such as alignment, it is easy to remove and get back on.

by:

rear bracket went on nicely . front not so . feeding guyed wire was difficult. the packet are well made and heavy duty.

by:

Steve Z at etrailer was sharp and very knowledgeable on the companies product. Steve was able to work with me on getting the proper camper tie downs for my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 (Item #TLD3107). He told me when they would be arriving and they actually arrived earlier than expected. Great product, install was pretty easy, I had them installed within an hour. This is a very high quality product with heavy duty construction. They provide a secure attachment for tie downs to the truck camper. The instructions provided are adequate, but not great. I Don't normally give recommendations or endorse products, but these I am truly impressed with. Thank you so much Steve and etrailer.

TLN2410 installed on 2016 Titan XD. Very sturdy product, all hardware was good. Will require 3/4”(19mm) and 14mm sockets. Note: directions a little off, you can fish the 7/16 bolt and plate through the bottom hole in frame as shown, but don’t try the 1/2” bolts there (ask me how I know, spent 20 minutes fishing the plate back out). Use the hole just above what is shown in the picture, on the side of frame, it will accommodate the 1/2” hardware. Also the front mounts will not quite clear the full length oem running boards which I was aware of and will swap out for shorter boards. Other than the “minor detail” with the instructions, they are fine and the mount is solid.

by:

Forklift tie downs are manufactured to exact fit to existing manufactured frame rail holes. They lined up perfectly and after 6000 miles with camper on board have stayed secure. The only downside, (this is relative to when and ware you use you camper) they will corrode when driving through snow covered roads that have been treated with sand and/or salt. I use an oil based product to protect them corroding.

  • Will the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs Fit a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD
I spoke with TorkLift about the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for a 2018 Toyota Tacoma and they stated they have not done any testing on the TRD. That said, it looks like the only issue would be the factory nerf bars so if these are equipped they would need to be removed. Otherwise, I don't see any issues with the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs on a Toyota Tacoma TRD. While the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs, # HSBP are not confirmed to fit the Toyota Tacoma due to the construction/material of truck bed, we do have an option that works for most slide-in truck campers. I suggest the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs, for a 2019 year model, use: - Front Tie-Down, # TLT2303 - Rear, Tie Down, # TLT3307 This frame-mounted design ensures excellent handling in securing the truck camper to truck's base instead of its bed; this better distributes...
