Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here @etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the Taylor Made Traditional Mooring Buoy. This allows you to have a secure anchoring point for your boat. It's going to have two attachment points, one to hold down to an anchor, to go down to the surface, or the floor of the body of water, where you're mooring, and then the top to actually tie your boat off to. It does have this reflective band of blue to make it a little bit more easy to see, or a little easier to see in the dark and the white color wall, to help to stand out against the waves. Take a little closer, look at it and talk about some more of the details and the size, it does again, have the top portion here and the bottom.
This will turn, to accommodate the turning of the waves, or turning up of the buoy, to make it pretty easy to get that in place. It helps to prevent the mooring chain from twisting as well. That center rod is made out of a galvanized steel, so it should stand up to being in the water for a long time. The buoy itself, is made out of a closed cell foam so you don't have to worry about inflating it to keep it afloat. It should stay nice and buoyant for pretty much the lifetime of the buoy, which should be quite a while. Then, that blue tape again is reflective, so should help to increase the visibility.
The diameter of this is 15 inches. The circumference or the distance around it is 47. It's buoyancy is rated at 60 pounds and it does have a three-year warranty and it is made in the USA. That's pretty much it for our look at the Taylor Made Sur Moor Mooring Buoy. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you.

This traditional mooring buoy provides an anchor point for your boat, making it perfect for your own personal mooring system. The sturdy center rod lets you attach the anchor chain and mooring pennant to the shackle at the bottom. The mooring buoy was exactly what we needed for a quick boat/float hook up. It's hooked to a heavy chain and cement anchor and hasn't budged. We forgot to take our last one in for the winter and the ice took it. We will not let that happen again. Thank you for a great product.
