How To Install the Sliding Under Platform Pontoon Boat Ladder

Hello: Your boat ladder videos seem helpful for sales however they are useless for helping install your ladder. Forgive me for being direct. At the end of last season I bought the JIF 2-step / platform which came without installation instructions. The installation kit contains 4 small bolts, washers and nuts. Simple to figure that one out. I plan to use larger bolts. Now the questions: - what are the 3 tiny handgrip-looking pieces 2 ¾ inches overall length? What are they used for? - is the ladder mounting on the top of the platform where the sharpinch edges of the hardware are a foot safety concern? Having viewed a number of videos on boat ladders, I see JIF are not the only suppliers who fail to include instructions or even a drawing as a guide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One way or another the platform/ladder will be attached before launch

In regards to installing the Sliding Under Platform Pontoon Boat Ladder part # 315-FOG3, this will be pretty straight forward. Position the unit where you would like to install it, mark the hole in the flange, drill out the holes, then secure the steps using hardware you provide. I recommend stainless steel hardware. If you like, you can use carriage bolts and place them through the top of the floor so that you don't have to worry about sharp points. That said, hex bolts will work as well. You could always cover them if need be.
