Pop it into your hitch and tow - no assembly required! We designed this ball mount with 2 layers of rust protection and included a pre-torqued, black nickel-plated ball for a long-lasting hitch that looks great.

Most ball mounts have just 1 layer of paint or powder coat to protect them from the outside world. Scratch this away after towing just a couple times, and the raw metal underneath will start to rust before you know it. Some folks take pride in that rusty, worn-in look. After all, rust is proof that you've had plenty of road-worn adventures.
But we prefer something that works hard and looks like it's barely broken a sweat. That's why we added a layer of e-coat underneath the matte black powder coat to give you an extra layer of rust protection. So while others might be driving around with a flaking, rusted-out hitch, yours will be looking great for the long haul.
Quick Tip: As for the hitch ball itself, if you really want to make sure that black nickel stays looking fresh for longer, we suggest greasing it up before you tow.

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at our etrailer 7,500 pound 2" Pre-Torqued Ball Mount on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The good thing about the ball mount here is the fact that right off the box, you're gonna have your ball installed and it's pre-torqued to the necessary spec to safely pull up to 7,500 pounds. If you happen to need the 2" rise instead of the 2" drop that the configuration is here, you can go with the alternative that's pre-torqued in the rise position. As far as the ball itself, it has a black nickel finish that's gonna hold up against corrosion and also hide those scuffs and scars from being towed and used out there in in the real world. The ball has a black nickel finish that's gonna hold up against corrosion and also cover up the scars and scrapes that the ball's gonna pick up from being towed. Another accessory or item that you would wanna buy with a ball mount is gonna be ball grease is gonna be ball grease to help lubricate the pivot point right here for your trailer.
And it's the same black nickel finish that's on our pin and clip in our receiver that's included with our ball mount. And just to test fit, from the bumper to the center of your ball is right at 5". So that's gonna be the amount of clearance that you're gonna need for your coupler, to get an idea as far as your coupler height, if you need a rise or drop, you're gonna wanna measure from the center of your ball from and get that measurement from the center of the ball to the ground. And then on your trailer, you're gonna measure from the bottom of your coupler to the ground and that'll let you know if you need a rise or drop. As long as you're about 2-1/2" up or down from level, you can safely tow.
Our ball mount is a hollow core and it is a powder coated steel. On the underneath the powder coat, there is an Ni coat as well. So that's gonna hold up against corrosion also 'cause just the life of a ball mount, getting going in and out of a receiver, being thrown on the ground, it's a rough life. So this powder coat ultimately will chip and when it does, the metal is still treated. As far as a quick tip, as far as maintenance, if you get a, get yourself a can of black spray paint, a rust resistant paint, you can always touch up the powder coat to get a longer life.
Here at etrailer, they give me a lot of flexibility to be honest in my reviews of products. And as far as the etrailer ball mount, I would say it's as good, if not better, as some of the other ball mount options that are on the market due to the black nickel finish that's gonna hold, hide up those use scarring and scratches that it's gonna get from being under a coupler and the powder coat having an Ni coat underneath it to protect the metal from corrosion. So again, this is Ed with etrailer.com, taking a look at the etrailer Ball Mount with a 2" ball, 2" rise, pre-torqued, with included pin and clip, and you're taking a look at it on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. Have a great day.

Pop it into your hitch and tow - no assembly required! We designed this ball mount with 2 layers of rust protection and included a pre-torqued, black nickel-plated ball for a long-lasting hitch that looks great.I tested this out hauling my 24' pontoon last week. Perfect amount of drop for my truck / trailer combo and it's small enough to toss under the seat when I need to use my hitch for something else, but ready to grab and go when I need it.
