Hello neighbors, I'm Steve with etrailer.com. Thank you so much for joining me while we take a look at this VIAIR 7-Way automatic RV Portable Air Compressor. This one's for your Class A-RVs. Now, this portable air compressor will fill up your RV tires up to 150 PSI max. Now that being said, make sure you're checking the manufacturer rated inflation PSI, that's usually stamped inside the sidewall of your RV's tire. Now again folks, this is gonna be perfect for your class-A RV tires, and smaller RVs as well.

It has a built-in thermal overload protector, so that will automatically shut down the unit if it overheats or something like that. But it's pretty impressive, it can actually operate for one hour at a time before it has to be rested, so that's pretty impressive. And it does come with two 30-foot long braided coil-style inflation hoses. Lemme pull this guy out. So I'm six-foot-two, Obviously this thing's not going a full 30 foot right now, but it is a coil style, so it coils back up if you're able to stretch it, you know, straight or whatever, it just goes right back to its same position.

It has nice, let me zoom in here. This guy's got a nice connection point here. It is covered with a heavy duty rubber and plastic, but it does actually pull, spring loaded, just like your normal air attachments are as well. So again, it comes with this 45-degree extension here, so you could put that in this hose here if you want it to, and you know, hit them dual rears, or possibly you want to use the gas pump style, as we're calling it. Inflation nozzle has a built-in pressure gauge as well.

Now, this pressure gauge goes up to 160 PSI. Again, you want to be a max of 150 as far as what your tires are rated at, you know, again, read those tires to check that. So again, this will help you reach the dual tires at the back. Once again, a closer look at that gauge. And just a nice, again, spring loaded inflation.

So again, easy to operate, spring loaded, comes right off, very nice attachment. You also get, if you look up here, you've got a couple of these black plastic adapters, those would be for like inflating an air mattress. There's a needle in there for inflating sports balls and that kind of thing, with an adapter to fit it up to the nozzles here to make sure you can inflate those. It has a nice 90-degrees swivel head. This part would actually screw into your Schrader valve or your valve stem, whatever you wanna call it, and it actually gives you another 40 inches here if needed, so that's a nice little attachment. As far as the compressor hookup, it's using your RV-style connection, it's very standard, has a nice long length on that as well. Built-in inline fuse, so you don't have to worry about overloading the machine. The pump itself, the compressor itself rather, has a built-in removable, replaceable filter system. You got filters here that come with it, I left them sealed up just for, keep 'em clean and whatnot. And you can swap them out. Now it's all a diamond plate base, and I'll try to show you, so the pump can go forward, back, side to side rotation. It's got nice built-in suspension system here on the compressor itself. I wanna throw up some information about the compressor here too while I'm talking about it. So I threw up on the screen the amps, the voltage, the duty cycle, that kind of stuff, just so you have that, that's also on the website as well. Now, as far as dimensions, folks, his is 12 7/16" long, it is 7 1/2" tall, and it is approximately 5" wide. Now, it only weighs about 13 and a half pounds, so it's not too bad. It comes with a really nice one-year warranty from the manufacturer. The handle here has got a nice foam grip, which I like, very easy to transport. And again, with two 30-foot hoses, you could connect to 'em and have a total length of 60 foot, that should be more than enough to reach around the RV and whatever you're airing up to get it inflated. Again, the power cord is six feet long, and everything here, just a nice, nice kit. So talking about the bag here, I left it kinda open just so I could get to it easier, but it has the nice plastic latches. Open it up. The main compartment, that would hold the compressor itself and that kind of stuff, that's gonna be nice and deep to hold everything. You've got a couple of pouches in the front, for an air hose. And swinging around back here, another pouch there to hold the other air hose. You got some side pouches here, maybe you can put your inflation nozzles in there, and a nice hook-and-loop, open-and-close style one on the side. So let me slide this over, and we'll go ahead and put it back in here just so you can see how it all fits. So I like to put the compressor in first, it's the biggest part, obviously. Get that in there. Tuck the wiring down out of the way. This 45-degree extension, that should go in there nice. Inflation nozzle. All my little guys here, I can put them in these hook-and-loop pouches on the side that I mentioned. Put one over there, one over here. This extra little cord here, I'll put that in the top. Go ahead and seal that up. Now I can open up the front bag here. Nice zippers too, I wanna mention that, they we inchesre opening and closing pretty easy on me, which is a good thing. The stitching and everything on 'em looked really good. The bag itself is like a canvas material, nice and rigid. All right, so then close on the front of this. Again, these just clip in place. Nice, sturdy. And we got the back bag up in here. Tuck this guy back inside of itself, and that should fit in there nicely. So again, once you get this all packaged back up, you can store it in one of your RV compartments, or in the vehicle, or in the RV itself, however you wanna do it. Very, very nice design from VIAAIR. Again, we're looking at the RV Portable Air Compressor for the Class-A RVs. Folks, I'm Steven, thank you so much for your time, I hope this video has been informative and helpful. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.

As usual I am happy with the always excellent customer service and quick shipping. I am however disappointed in the product. This Viar portable air compressor is replacing one I had for over 10-years which was not sufficient for my current needs and was very happy with it for longevity and performance. I am however unhappy with what I received. The photos associated with the unit I purchased showed battery alligator clamps for power, what I received only has a 7-pin connector. This is problematic because Besides my RV which does have a 7-pin connector, I was hoping to use it in our car which does not. Additionally, while my RV does have a 7-pin plug, I understand it will not power equipment that does not have running lights.

Loving it! Very reliable, easy to use, and have had no issues with it. Happy with our purchase.

I got this to replace a regular 400P Viair compressor that had a very unfortunate hose failure. I guess it speaks to their reliability that despite the fact that the hose on my 15 year old compressor failed I got a new one from the same company.

The automatic feature, meaning that if you lift off the trigger the compressor stops, is really nice. And the automatic 400P has a MUCH better hose. Note that the regular 400P hose, the yellow one, is I think nylon, and Viair recommends it not be used below freezing. Which might have been in part why my old one broke.

It does irritate me that Viair uses a non standard female to female quick release hose. Why not do it like all other air tool set ups? female compressor to male at one end of the hose, female at the other, and male on the tools. Sheesh. In any case, relatively easy to put together a gender switcher (heh) so you could use a regular hose rated for the compressor's pressure.

The gauge on this seems to run a bit high, but again it's better than the regular 400P because if you let the compressor stop you get a true reading. A tad high compared to my regular air pressure gauge and my TPMS, but consistent which is the most important point.

Also, I MUCH prefer the chuck on this. The regular 400P has a non bending metal bit that is tough to fit onto valves on the tires on my truck and some trailers I've used. I had to bend the valve and fight it to get a good connection; it just got in the way of itself. Ugh. This connection is MUCH better. Smooth fitting, and tight.

I noticed it takes a few beats before the compressor turns off after you lift off the trigger. But again, it's consistent so once you know that you anticipate and lift off a bit earlier.

It also has a stickier base, so it doesn't seem to walk around as much. A nice touch.

All in all it was worth it to upgrade to the automatic from the regular 400P even though I was forced into it. Especially since etrailer had it on sale. Thanks etrailer!

Works very well. I use it for inflating tires and pushing liquids out of my RV water supply lines for winter.

I love the design engineering of the pump. 1 year ago I had purchased a smaller pump but it couldn't pump 4 tires to 123m lbs. kept shutting down when it got too hot. Hopefully this on will be able to do that.

by:

there was a defective air filter housing but Viair is supposed to send me a replacement

by:

EASY TO SET UP AND VERY QUICK TO FOLLOW THE USE.

by:

Quick smooth transaction , good communication AAA+
