Hey everyone, it's Evangeline. And today we'll be taking a look at our compact rear wheel cradle for your SeaSucker bike racks right here at etrailer.com. We are using the SeaSucker Talon bike rack on this Equinox, and everything went well until we realized that there we're ridges on this roof, and at the larger rear cradle that came with the bike rack did not fit in between those ridges. Now we needed to put the bike rack a bit forward, so we had good stability. So we switched out the rear cradle with this compact cradle, and now we can fit it between the ridges and get our bike rack in its ideal spot. So that's gonna be a situation you might encounter for your vehicles and for your bikes of different shapes and sizes.

Let's take a look at this. So here's our ridges on a roof, and you can see how the cup fits perfectly within that gap. So you have a flat surface for the vacuum cup to adhere to. To see if this will fit on your roof, the diameter of the vacuum cup is going to be 4 1/2 inches wide. This is what the rear vacuum cup looks like from the original kit.

So you can see it has the larger cup and it also has this cradle up top just to support your rear tire. Now this is compared to your new compact cradle, you do not have a cradle for your tire. It just sits on the platform, but you do have that smaller cup. This does have a hook and loop strap in order to secure your rear tires. And this just goes over, and you pull the side strap over the first one to secure it.

It automatically secures and it maintains that tight fit on your bike. All you need to worry about is making sure that plunger is facing the right way because the straps are reversible or usable on whichever side you have this mounted to on your car. So if you have this offset to the driver's side or the passenger side, that will work both ways. Although I recommend always keeping them tight just in case. So this is not included with your current SeaSucker bike rack kit, and you will have to intentionally get it as an add-on depending on your vehicle's roof or your mounting locations.

So if you need to switch out your six inch diameter rear wheel cup then this is gonna be a good option for you. It fits most of your bikes with a 22 inch long straps, even your fat bike tires can be secured to your vehicle.
