Video Transcript for RV Air Floor Vent Air Filters Review

Hi everyone. It's Evangelina here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at our replacement RV floor vent air filters right here at etrailer. So these are rectangular floor vent air filters that are custom fit for your integral American and Winnebago model RVs but you can also cut them to size for your other RV models. So we'll take a look at how to do that later in this video but first let's take a look at the different specs of this air filter. So there's probably two reasons why you're looking at this air filter. One is you maybe don't have an air filter in your floor vent and you wanna add one just so that you can filter out the pollen, dander, mold spores, things like that.

Or you have an air filter in your RV but it's all dirty so you're ready to replace it. Whatever reason you have it for let's take a look at what it's made of to see how it works. So the filter is made of a non-woven polyester construction. We also have a sticky tackifier here on the inside and that's gonna help with your microscopic particles. For that reason as well please don't get this air filter wet because then that tackifier won't be as effective.

And with any filter you wanna make sure that it has a high enough rating for those allergens and those smaller particles. So this has a MERV six rating. That means that it can capture three to 10 microns which means how small the particle this can filter. So this arrives as a pack of four. So that can be helpful If you have multiple air vents then you can just put filters in all of them or if you just wanna replace one multiple times just remember that you should be replacing them regularly or again every three months if you are full time or once a year if you are a Cecil camper.

So make sure to plan accordingly and get enough filters. So this is going to be 9 1/2 inches long and there's gonna be 3 1/2 inches wide. So that is more custom fit for the models I mentioned earlier but if you have a different trailer model which is what we have here you're gonna have to cut it to fit. So let's take a look at that install process. What I used was a screwdriver just to take off my floor panel and some scissors.

So let's take a look at our own floor panel vent. So once you have these screws out so you can then take the panel off. You can see that ours does not have the filter on the inside so you're adding one to our trailer. Now let's take a look at the inside dimensions of our vent. So measuring for length it's gonna be an inside dimension of nine and five, eight inches actually and then for width it's gonna be one and seven, eight inches. So as you can see our width is definitely gonna be okay since this is wider than our vent cover but is not long enough so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to add a little bit to the width so that's just gonna wedge it inside of our vent cover and create a filter on the inside. So it is lined up. I'm just gonna cut off the excess right there. So with the excess caught off we're now just gonna fit this right into our vent cover. It fits almost perfectly. That looks good. The way I do it is I have the green part facing the bottom over of our vent and the white part is facing through the vent. Now, fit your vent cover right back over your vent and then don't forget to bolt that down with your screws. So my personal thoughts about this air filter is I like how easy it was to install. You just pop it into your vent and that's it. You're good for the next three months or even a year. Now, I do wish that it was larger just so that it would have fit lengthwise into my vent since I had to cut it anyways but I do understand it is more custom fit for your American or your Winnebago model RVs. So just for that reason I think it is helpful to have on hand. I always prefer having filters inside of all of my vents just because I like to breathe easier and I like to be safe and I don't like those allergens in the air but it really is up to you and how much effort you wanna put into this. It's just nice to know it's not much effort at all. And that was a look here at our placement RV floor vent air filters right here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

  • Tips To Reduce Noise On a Roof Mounted Air Conditioner Non-Ducted System
The best methods for helping to quiet down a non-ducted RV air conditioner are general maintenance and air filters. You can add additional air filter material like the Filter # RA33QV to your exhaust ducts. While this will help to reduce some of the sound waves coming down through the air conditioner it will also slow down air flow as well. You will want to regularly clean the filters, fan, and coils on the air conditioner to help it run correctly.
