Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this turn signal switch for the Peterson combination stop and turn signal lights. Now, this seven-wire unit is going to let you control your combination stop and turn signal lamps that require a brake light circuit. The built-in pilot lights, as you can see them right here, are going to indicate your left turn and right turn. And this also includes the hazard warning switch with the hazard pilot light. And then this can be deactivated by moving the lever either in the left or right hand, right turn signal position. So again, you just pull that switch out until it locks into place.
And then when you want to deactivate the hazard, you'll just move that lever either up or down. Now, I do want to point out that this does not come with the flasher required. However, you should be able to find it at a local auto parts store. And this features a heavy-duty, (switch thumping) die-cast housing with this flat, black enamel finish. And the lever is chrome plated.
So this feels like it's gonna operate very smoothly, and it does feel very well built overall. Now, this does include the universal steering column clamp and inline fuse. And then instructions are also included to walk you through the installation process. And on the other side here, we do have a wiring diagram to help you make sure that you are hooking up the wires correctly so that this'll function properly for you. And again, this is going to be a seven-wire installation.
And I took some measurements of this unit before our time together just to hopefully give you an idea of the size. So just the overall length, from end to end, we're sitting about eight inches long. And then the overall height, we're sitting at about 2 3/8 inches tall. And then the overall thickness of the unit, we're sitting right at about 2 1/2 inches thick. So hopefully that gives you an idea of the size.
