Randy: Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at a replacement control kit for the power gear manual leveling system. Now it's a little bit of an older system but things happen with it over time. It worked really good. Customers we're really happy with the effectiveness of this system and this is just going to be a good quick way to take care of any of the electrical issues you have or maybe your control box itself has failed. It's got some circuitry inside there and from time to time, if you know anything about electronics, we do have issues.
So this gets you the new control head here. You've got your on and off. It's going to be a carbon copy of what you previously had. Your all jack for your track, front jacks, rear jacks, left rear, right rear jack, and it does also have the LEDs here for the indication which you're used to, which would be that your jacks are down, that it's retracting and you need to wait, and to engage the parking brake.The thing I like about this system is whether you've had a short here, we get that new replacement or maybe it's just a simple matter of one of the wires in your harness has had some kind of failure. As wires bounce around, as we head down the road, we run into instances where they might short out.
Now it's wrapped in a nice wire loom, but over time anything can wear through that given enough time and steady movement. So this basically is going to take care of everything from plug to plug.Two of the plugs in our harness are going to go into the back here. We've got our eight flat, it's going to go in here, and then we've got our six, that's going to go in here. So this comes out, these plug right back in. And then what I would do is just trace my wires back from where they came from and get these installed where they need to go.
We've got the new power lead, so if we've had shorting issues or anything like that, sometimes that can cause this to happen, we want this to be fused, of course. But if it's shorts after our fuse, most of the time that fuse is just going to pop but it can sometimes cause damage here so we've got the new power leads so we'll know that we have no nicks, no scrapes, no issues there. Then you're going to have your other eight pin plug and the other six pin plug to plug into the rest of your system.This is going to be, again just to a carbon copy of exactly what came with it and the benefit there, we're not tracking wiring issues. It's something that, it's one of my least favorite things when it comes to troubleshooting. What's going on with some of the motor homes we get in here is that a wire will be shorted out somewhere and they run so long.
You've got such a long distance to try to find exactly where that short's at. We really recommend, and I certainly recommend, going with something like this because that's going to completely eliminate any issues. If you've got one issue you're chasing and you fix that, that might lead us to another issue. Whereas with this type of kit completely replacing everything, we know we eliminate this from the equation 100% we're getting it right back up to par.So if you've got the powered gear leveling system and you're running into electrical issues, or your control unit has failed you, I think this is going to be an excellent replacement. And working with customers with this, there's no complaints. This is a direct replacement, has all the proper connectors already in place. So just make your connections and get back to enjoying your camper.

Easy install including alterations. Follow directions and then plug and play. Works as described. Perfect replacement ( and fit) for my 1999 Fleetwood Bounder. So far no issues. Professional service, fast delivery and reliable information always from etrailer!

This unit used a different polarity for operation than my original one. But I had clear instructions on how to correctly connect it. The hardest part was drilling through the firewall to install the wires. After a year, it is still working great in my motorhome.

Very simple instructions to follow. The control head was bigger than the on replacing, so the hole in the dash had to be slightly modified.
Main thing, it works great!

There are, however, some wiring changes that have been made at the pump assembly for the system to operate. I have included pictures showing the wiring changes that need to be made as well as the back of the old and new control panels where you can see that they all use the 6-pin wiring harness.

The original harness/keypad are no longer made but the Replacement Control Kit # LC359259 that you referenced is designed to upgrade the system (if you do in fact have an older model) to the current version. Use circuit tester # PTW2992 to test for power going into and out of each component.
