What's going on, everybody. Adam here with the etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat One Bike Add On for your NV base or NV 2.0 bike racks. An awesome feature about the NV base or the NV 2.0, is the fact that we can add one bike or even two bikes, onto the two-by configuration that you may already have. We have black here but it also comes in metallic black and gunmetal gray. This is gonna be the exact same thing as you have before.

You have two up here. The add-ons gonna be exactly the same, the sides. You might have a different cable lock here. This is the updated lock. It's pretty much the same exact thing.

And it's gonna work the same exact way as your other one. There's just a different location to lock that in. So, it's not gonna be any longer or any shorter. So, you don't have to worry about having to figure out if it's going to fit your bikes. It's gonna have the same exact features as all the other slots on your bike rack.

But, one thing that is really nice about it is it does come with the fat tire bike adapter. So, if that extra bike that you picked up is a fat tire bike, you don't really have to worry about grabbing an adapter that comes with the kit. Only two things are gonna change from your normal bike rack that you're used to having. And that is just the length. We're gonna add about 11 inches from the farthest point that you used to have.

And, we are going to limit our weight capacity down from 60 pounds per bike to 50 pounds per bike. This is one of my favorite features of the NV 2.0 or the NV base. Just because, if you have a growing family, you can slowly start adding them on, whether it's one or two or if you're really just getting into the bike game and then you start acquiring different types of bikes, maybe a fat tire bike, a heavy duty mountain bike, and then a road bike. You can bring all of your bikes to the trails and get a ride in on each one with one single bike rack. You get a couple other goodies with the kit. We're gonna get a nice little baggy, which is nice. And we are gonna get two sets of keys and a bottle opener, which is sweet. But, one thing about the keys is, they're not gonna work with your hitch lock or your other two cable locks. But, it is gonna work for the cable lock on the add on. It is super, super simple. Of course, we have all the hardware that comes with it to make the install really, really easy. So, let's go over that installation process with you now. First thing you wanna do is we're gonna assemble this whole kit together. And, we wanna get the concave side, facing up, and there's gonna be a B on one side and A on the other. So, what you wanna do is take one of your parts, see what it says on there. And since this one says B, we're gonna go this way, again, with the concave part facing up. And, basically, we're gonna have two bolts linking both of these together. One's already gonna be installed. So take the nut off, line them up, just, thread it all the way through. Just like that. And then, on the other side, you gonna line that up, like that. Hole over here, it's got the same shape as our nut. So, when we put that on, we can just go ahead and put this on with it. Kind of just hold that into place and I'm gonna get a tool. So, for this one, the one that's already pre-installed whenever you get it, I would definitely recommend using this tool right here because over here, it's gonna get in our way. So, start making your way, tightening that one up. I'm not gonna completely tighten it. I'm just gonna get it threaded on there. And then we're gonna go back and forth from the two to tighten them up evenly. Now, one is almost completely tightened down, we're gonna do the same exact thing for this, but this one is gonna go in from the other side, compared to the one we did earlier. Now, with that all assembled, we can just go ahead and work on our rack, prepare it for adding the add on. And by doing that, all we got to do is just take this cap off. If you have the NV 2.0 and not the base, it's the same exact process. You just have a little bike work stand, still, gonna have the same bolt. So, use the provided tool here to get it loosened up. Take that bolt all the way out, and the end cap and or the bike stand will come out with it. Now, let's take the add on. Make sure this little bracket on the end is nice and lined up. And we're gonna go ahead and take it. Slide it in there. And line it all up. That'll fit in there really nicely. You'll feel it. Trust me. And then, you can take our little bigger tool and there's gonna be two bolts in here. And, we wanna tighten those up. I suggest as tightening up to where one of them is rather tight and then go to the other one. And then, we can tighten them down fully together, going back and forth just to make sure it's seated into place properly. Now, we can take our end cap or the bike stand. You can go ahead and line that up. And they do provide us with a new shiny bolt. So, use the new one just because the threads on the inside of the new piece we're adding are nice and new and we don't wanna cross-thread it with some of the other threads on the other one. You might as well use the new hardware. Take your tool. Tighten it down. Once everything is nice and lined up and it's nice and tight, we, are done.
