Today we're going to take a look at the InfiniteRule stainless steel locking pins for the Gen Y 21,000 pound adjustable ball mount for three inch hitches.Now these are flush-style style locking pins that will replace the standard pins on your Gen Y 21,000 pound adjustable ball mount. Basically it includes three pins here. Use one pin to secure the ball mount to your three inch trailer hitch. Use a second pin to secure the ball mount platform to the ball mount, and then use the additional pin to secure your pintle hook, or other accessory, to your ball mount platform.These all three are heavy-duty rust-resistant stainless steel construction. If you notice on the head of them, they have these three grooves in there, that makes it easier to grab that head when it comes off and will even work good if you have gloves on, still gives you something to grip to.On the inside, when this head's put on, on the inside, they have an O-ring which will protect the internal components from dirt and grime, helps seal it. And when I take this off, I'm going to show you here in a minute what that O-ring looks like.If you notice on the outside, it has this rubber weather-resistant tethered dust cap, which will help keep water and debris out of the key-way of the lock.

All three of these lock cores are keyed alike. It does come with three keys. These parts are made in the USA. And just to show you how you take the head off to install it, you just put your key in there, and then you just twist the key, like you're unscrewing a bolt. Now, once it gets far enough, comes right off.

And again, there's those grooves that you can hold on to.And then I mentioned the O-ring. You can see the red portion there. That's the O-ring, that when you put these back together, help seal it. Now, when you do go to.. Put these back together, just want to show you, you just put the key in and then twist it again, like you're tightening a bolt, and I want to get snug.What you want to do to take the key out, there's four markings on the face.

Let me just zoom in to show you here. If you look real close, you can see there's four markings, every quarter of a turn. So at the 12 o'clock, three o'clock, six o'clock, nine o'clock positions. That's where you have to have the key line up to come out. So if you go past the marking, it won't come out.

But if you line it back up with the marking, key comes right out. So to remove the key, you just line it up with one of those markings. Nice safety feature.Now again, the application for these are Gen Y 21,000 pound adjustable ball mounts for three inch hitches. The shear strength on these locks is 42,000 pounds. And that shear strength is determined by them placing the locking pin in a stress position. And then they subject it to increasing force, until required load is met, or the pin fails. And again, all three of these have a shear strength of 42,000 pounds.They are the same size. The pin diameter is five eighths of an inch. And the overall length on them, edge to edge, is going to be right at six and a quarter inches.
