Today we're going to take a look at the Demco Hijacker Premier Series custom mounting brackets for the fifth-wheel above-bed base rails. These are a custom-fit part, they are designed to fit the 2014 and newer Dodge Ram and Ram 2500 series trucks, with either the six-and-a-half foot bed or the eight-foot bed without the factory rail kit. On any custom-fit part, I always like to recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, but in your year and model vehicle and it will show you if these will work for your application. These installation brackets will mount beneath your truck bed to provide attachment points for your fifth-wheel rails. The base rails we do sell separately on our website, it's part number DM-6071, and the rails are what's sit in your truck bed and allow the installation of the fifth-wheel trailer hitch to your truck. These custom-fit brackets here will mount to existing holes in your vehicles frame. That will help minimize drilling, reduces installation time, and it's designed to avoid known obstacles along your truck's frame. As you can see, they're made of a nice sturdy black powder-coated steel to help resist corrosion.
You can see they've labelled each one, so you know what position it goes in. All the hardware is included, and nice set of detailed instructions on how to install it. These parts are made in the USA. Installation of the kit was difficult due to tight access underneath. However, the product that was identified properly by the etrailer rep as the one needed for my 2017 2500 Dodge Ram (w/ short bed). The hitch fits and everything is torqued to spec.
