Trailer Running Lights Not Operating When Connected to 2014 Nissan Frontier With Tow Package

Question:

I already have the 7-way plug attached to my 2014 Frontier. All I need is the harness that goes in the kick plate of passenger side. I noticed the one you have has the four way plug. Cant I Just leave my 7-way plugged in? And do you have just the harness with the relays for the kick plate. I figured itd be a little cheaper being that I dont need the four way. My trailer lights were working fine but now the running lights dont work and Ive done everything possible to test them so I figured it would just be best to buy the harness with the relays and stick it in there under kick plate and hope that would solve the problem

Since you have the factory installed 7-way trailer connection and tow package, the relays needed for your trailer lights will be located either in the under-the-hood fuse box or the fuse box located under the left side of the driver's side dash.

However, on some Nissan models, there can also be a wiring harness located in the right kick panel on the passenger's side for the trailer wiring. The harness would be installed, but there may or may not have the relays installed in the harness.

Sometimes, these relays are not installed at any location during manufacturing. You will have to install one before the lights will be operational.

We have a Curt Relay Kit # C57000 that is used on the aftermarket wiring harness, but the relays are the same for the factory tow package. If you are missing a relay or if one is bad the Curt kit will give the correct relay to get your trailer running lights operational.
