Is the Curt E16 5th Wheel Hitch Head Compatible With A16 Legs?
The Replacement Base Legs for Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16920 are NOT compatible the E16 head # C16515. Although they may bolt up Curt says are not compatible. You will need to either upgrade the head to the A16 # C16520 and use the A16 legs or use the Replacement Base Legs for Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16903 with the E16 head # C16515. Why Can't Curt E16 Slider Hitch be Converted to Fixed Hitch with Leg Swap
The heads on the E16 slider and fixed hitches are slightly different so the leg kit you mentioned would not bolt up. The mounting bolts are off by 1/2 inch. So what you'd need is the E16 part # C16115 for an all new Curt E16 hitch that includes new legs and head.

Orientation Of Leg Stripes on the Curt E16 Fifth Wheel Hitch
I see what you are saying about the stripes on the lets of the # C16115. In the instructions it shows having the stripes on the outside portion of the leg so that would be what I would recommend although I can't seem to see a reason why any other variation wouldn't work as they seem to be symmetrical.

The correct leg kit to fit the E16 head part # C16515 that you referenced is the part # C16903 as the head part # C16920 that you referenced only fits the A16 hitches.
