Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, today we're gonna take a quick look at this Blue Ox track pro weight distribution shank. This shank is gonna provide the attachment point for your weight distribution system's head assembly. The head will attach here. This end is going to slide into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. This is designed to work with the track pro systems including all the part numbers that you see on the screen there. So if you have any of those, maybe the original shank has become lost or damaged, this is going to be an exact replacement for those from Blue Ox.

So you can trust it's going to work with those systems. Not going to have to worry about compatibly issues or anything like that. Of course you are going to wanna make sure that any time you slide this into a hitch, that hitch is gonna be rated for use with weight distribution system, because not all are. So be careful with that. This does have a maximum gross trailer rate of 13,000 pounds, which is the trailer and the load included.

It's also got a maximum tongue weight with the downward pressure on the receiver tube of 1,300 pounds. Of course you do wanna make sure that with any towing set up, you go off of the lowest number of all of your components, because your set up is only as strong as the weakest link. Now this does have seven adjustment holes here so that we can attach our head assembly to whatever height is gonna work best for our trailer so that we can tow our trailer nice and level. This is going to give us a maximum two inch drop. So when we have our head assembly bolted into our lowest holes here that, from the top of our receiver tube down to our ball platform area where our couplers gonna sit, it's about two inches of drop.

So if your trailer is a little bit lower than your hitch, that will work for you. You can also flip this over, use it in the rise position. It's going to give you a rise of eight inches. So two inch drop, eight inch rise. So if you have a trailer that's a little bit higher than your hitch, that eight rise is gonna be really nice for you.

Now this does have a nice sturdy steel construction. You can see its got a black powder coat finish to it so it's gonna resist rust and corrosion, and should last you a nice long time, do a good job for you, making sure that your weight distribution system is working properly. You can see they do include one pin and clip to get this connected to your hitch. So that's not gonna wobble out. If you don't already have one, I would maybe recommend getting a locking pin instead. Just to make sure that there's some extra security there so no one can come along and take off with your trailer or your weight distribution system.
