I have ordered from Etrailer a few times now, The service is always great and fast shipping. They have the best prices around. Where I live I have 24 miles of rough dirt road so am always replacing parts on my trailers. Their products hold up to the test of my road. Always a perfect fit too!

everything is still holding up very good! Thank you guys for the excellent service!

This hanger kit and leaf springs for my tandem boat trailer was PERFECT! I did one side at a time. Once we got the old crap off the trailer, reassembly was a snap. It took about three hours from start to finish. Most of the time was spend removing the frozen center bolt from the old equalizers. I'm very happy I opted for the two center bolts to be "wet bolts". Thanks again, I would definitely recommend etrailer to my friends. Regards, Bob

Still PERFECT

Thank You for getting me back on the road quick , Awesome product thanks for the fast shipping, thank you Ed.

by:

Kit purchased to repalce damaged components on an existing 70's era trailer. The complete hanger kit was cheaper than purchasing the individual parts I needed. The hangers were not used but the equalizers, shackels, and bolts were direct replacements to restore my trailer to tip top shape. I added some nylon spring eye bushings to complete the job!

Everything went together well. The trailer is working fine now

I was very pleased with the quality of the APT4 kit I received . I had a small issue due to the kit was short 2 bolts and nuts. Etrailer toke care of the issue promptly by sending the missing parts with out question. I would use etrailer for all my future needs.

by:

Product was just as advertised. Nice to just order a kit and not have to worry about forgetting something. My only complaint was the packaging as everything was just loose in a cardboard box. Surprisingly nothing fell out in transit considering all the nuts, zerks and cotter pins were rolling around and there was a hole in the side of the box.

by:

Disappointed with the Made In China for the equalisers though quality seems to be ok.

Weld on pressings for the shackles and straps were poorly finished, with sharp edges that needed finishing before assembly/paint prep. Country of origin unknown.

by:

We have bought these hanger kits from etrailer before and are very happy with the product. Their shipping is quick and the value is exceptional.

by:

Impressed with quality of parts. Customer service was awesome in helping me find the right parts. Definitely will do business in future.

by:

The bushings seem cheap but otherwise seems to be solid.

by:

I have ordered from etrailer many times and they are always prompt with their shipments and the parts arrive as ordered. Customer service A+.

by:

Package arrived on time. All items in great shape. I'm looking forward to doing business with ETrailer in the future. Walker

  • Recommended 7-3/4 Inch Suspension Equalizer with 3/4 Inch Center and 9/16 Inch Bottom
The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double Eye Springs - 3-3/4" Tall Front/Center/Rear # APT5 has the wider 7-3/4 inch equalizers you referenced but all holes are 9/16 inches (top and bottom). All of our kits will have the 9/16 inch bolts. This isn't an issue unless you aren't replacing the hangers. We do have the equalizers you are seeking sold individually. They are the Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs - 7-3/4" Long - 3/4" Center Hole # TREQE34. Then you can...

  • How Much Space Should be Between the Top of the Axles and the Bottom of a Boat Trailer
Normally when using hanger kit # AP233-H248 with spring # e66SR the distance from the bottom of the frame to the center of the axles is going to be approximately 4-1/2 inches. Subtract half the width of the frame then to the top of the axles that would be 3-5/16 inches. Two inches might work out fine depending on how far the suspension travels but more height would likely be needed considering the heavier load. Hanger kit # APT4 would provide more height since it has taller hangers than...

Based on my research, when using the Universal Group Leaf Springs # SP-222275 that has a spring eye length of 24-7/8 inches with either the Redline Tandem Axle Hanger Kit # APT4 or # APT3HD, you will want a distance of 29-1/2 inches between the hangers on your trailer. Both hanger kits you referenced include everything needed to attach 4 leaf springs to your trailer frame. I have included a couple short video demonstrations on these kits along with an article on positioning a trailer axle...

  • Options to Level a Fifth Wheel Trailer that is Being Towed by a Taller Truck
The easiest solution would be if you could lower the head of your fifth wheel hitch, or raise the pin box of your trailer. Either of these options should allow your trailer to sit more level. You would want to make sure you have between 4-6 inches from the overhang of your trailer to the bedrails though. Another option you have would be to move your axles to below the leaf springs. This is the most common way to lift a fifth wheel trailer to allow the trailer to be towed level if the hitch...

One option you have would be to move your axles to below the leaf springs. The diameter of your trailer axle will determine the size of the parts that you will need to order. Sounds like you want to move your springs to the top of the axle and want to know how hard it would be to move them back. All you will have to do is reverse what you did to put them on top of the axles. All you will need is the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit like # K71-385-00, if you have a 3 inch round axle, or # K71-384-00 if you have a 2-3/8 inch round axle.

If the leaf spring stack on your travel trailer is currently mounted to the bottom of the axle, there is an over-under conversion kit that you could use to gain a few more inches of height. However, this will change the center of gravity on the trailer and can lead to an increased chance of trailer sway. For 3 inch round axles you could use # K71-385-00. And for 2-3/8 inch round axles use # K71-384-00. You should not have to do any welding to use these kits. You would not want to flip...

Thank you for all of that information. From everything that you described it sounds like you are overloading your rear axle. Even though your axles are rated for 8K each and you only have 12,420 lbs on your axles, if your rear tires are wearing on the inside tread then you have too much weight over the rear axle and you need to adjust cargo around in your 2019 Grand Design 367 BHS Reflection 41. • Trailer Lift Recommendation for a Trailer with Axles Over Springs
Aside from moving the axles below the leaf springs the only other way we recommend you lift a trailer is by installing taller spring hangers on the trailer frame. What you would need to do is measure the dimensions of your current hangers and then compare them to the hangers at the attached link and then go with ones that will give you the amount of lift you need.

  • Raising the Height of a 5th Wheel Trailer with 2-3/8 Inch Diameter Axles for More Ground Clearance
You likely have 2-3/8 inch diameter axles. 2-3/8 and 2-1/2 are separated by just 1/8 of an inch so if measuring with a tape measure or ruler it could easily look like 2-1/2 inches. If you are measuring with calipers though that is a different story but I've never heard of a 2-1/2 inch diameter axle. If you do think raising the trailer in the back is the way to go then you may be able to use an over/under conversion kit if: The trailer leaf spring stack is currently mounted under the axles The...

The Dexter Axle # K71-449-00 offers equalizers that are the same width and height as what you have now. The only difference is that the shackle links are a tiny bit shorter, at 2-1/4 inches versus the 2-1/2 you currently have. This is assuming that your axle tube is 3 inches diameter. If your axle tube is smaller the height will be sightly less. The curve of the springs you select will have some affect also. When installing the wet bolts, like what comes with the Hanger Kit # APT4 that you referenced, we recommend tightening them down so that the knurls are no longer visible and then backing them off just a little bit. There is no torque rating for wet bolts and you are correct that if you tighten them down too much then it will "lock up" your suspension some. If you follow the procedure highlighted above you will have them tightened correctly.
