Dimension

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

The simple truth is that salt can be highly corrosive to metal when exposure lasts for an extended period of time. So, the more you tow around it, the more you need to protect your trailer from it.

A rusted trailer jack welded to a trailer frame

The Z-Max zinc finish on this jack offers great corrosion protection, even with occasional use around saltwater, to help ensure that it doesn't end up looking like the one above. Rust-resistant coatings are graded according to a salt spray rating. Basically, this rating shows the amount of time it takes for a material to show signs of corrosion when exposed to pure, continuous salt spray. Traditional zinc plating typically begins to deteriorate after about 100 hours. Dacromet usually lasts for around 300 to 400 hours. Fulton's Z-Max finish lasts for 600 hours in the salt spray test - 30% longer than a standard powder coat finish.

The environment this test creates is much harsher than anything you'll ever experience in your journeys, but it provides a testament to how well this jack resists rust and corrosion.

How to Determine the Lift Capacity You Need in a Jack

A trailer jack lifts your trailer high enough at the tongue to allow you to couple it with your vehicle. Usually, your tongue weight is about 10-15% of your gross trailer weight (GTW). For example, a 10,000-lb trailer has a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs to 1,500 lbs. To raise the tongue of a trailer this size, you'd need a jack that can handle a static load of no less than 1,500 lbs. And, yes, it's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time fishing.

Cammi, very professional, knowledgeable and efficient,
I received the correct part needed in a timely fashion.
I’ve used etrailer for other items in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

by:

One of the only online retailers with the EXACT unit I needed to replace a broken jack on a 30-year-old ski boat trailer. I was able to re-use the existing mounting plate and didn't have to do any welding.

by:

Fast shipping. Installed on my trailer quickly. The locking pin was smaller than on my old mount. The jack had the bigger hole needed on the left side. I took the pin off my old jack and installed in the left hole. My mounting bracket has holes all 4 corners so this works great. Great product/service by Etrailer. Will come back again.

Still working great. Would buy again if needed.

it was what the product claimed to be...very fast delivery..fit right on the trailer it was made for

This is a great replacement jack for our boat trailer, a 1999 Triton TR18. Replaced the original perfectly, without having to change the original welded base. Highly recommended. Got a 'before' and 'after' photo to help show what I mean.

It’s working superbly, zero problems. The addition of the grease fitting was a great idea.

by:

This is the exact replacement jack that was on my trailer. I couldn't find one locally, but etrailer had it in stock and shipped the same day that I ordered it. They emailed all the information that I needed to track my shipment. It was two business days on the delivery. This is my second purchase from etrailer and all that I can say are great things about them. I would highly recommend etrailer for all your trailer needs.

After one year, the jack is working great. I would highly recommend this product.

This was a replacement jack for my 1990 model boat trailer. Great looking product at a good price. I used the existing mount on the trailer and the jack fit perfectly. Look forward to doing more business with etrailer.

Jack works fine and is a very good product.

Works great. Didnt have to reweld the backing plate. I was able to use the existing one still on the trailer. Just removed the snap ring and switched out the old with the new.

I've got a JC Tritoon 226 with 6000 lbs. GVWR (Gross vehicle weight rating) and 3500 lbs. Front and Rear GAWR (Gross axle weight rating) trailer. Had to replace the jack because I kept braking the pin turning the gear to pump the jack up. The weight of trailer was more than the jack could handle. Notice the jack had a 500 lb. rating. I been looking for a replacement jack with a welded on plate and snap ring. All I wanted to change was the jack and snap ring. I found the Fulton round with snap ring swivel model FTJ120W0301 with 1200 lbs. rating. Had this new jack installed in 10 minutes and fits just perfect. Could be happier! Great replacement.

by:

The Fulton snap ring weld-on swivel jack was an improved version of what has been on my 1999 MFI trailer for the same year Triton TR21. The old jack was becoming very difficult to crank to the appropriate height regardless of lubrication.

Very easy replacement with a pair of snap ring pliers. Of course I didn't have a pair. [hardware store] has an inexpensive pair $xx that work well enough for this single use installation. Could have reused the old snap ring, but went with the new one included with the jack. Might take you longer to hook up to your tow vehicle than replacing the jack.

Full disclosure: The original order arrived two days after the order was placed. Unfortunately, it was filled incorrectly. Mistakes happen, but etrailer went above and beyond to correct the mistake. Would reorder from etrailer without hesitation.

I really appreciate the time etrailer takes to provide product and installation videos.

by:

Just installed the jack on my utility trailer. It had the weld on back plate which made it a piece of cake to do. I had to relocate my spare tire bracket which was no problem. I also installed a hand winch to use if I needed to pull on a lawnmower. The jack came from etrailer right on time. It's not the first time I bought something from them. Great company. My only regret is it was made in China, wish they would try the USA.

I am sorry to see you are missing a piece! I have already sent your information to our customer service team and they will be reaching out to you about this.

I have not had my jack installed yet. I thought I might be able to use the existing mounting bracket from my Shelby 5784 jack but it looks like I need to have the old one replaced and have the new mounting bracket welded onto my trailer. Once I get the new one installed, it appears that this will be a great jack.

by:

The Jack fit perfectly on my 1999 Triton boat trailer made by MFI. The trailer has the welded plate with a 2 1/2" center. The jack is attached by a snap ring (some call it a 'C' ring). As others have stated, use a decent snap ring plier and replacement is simple. I liked the new snap ring better than the original one so I used the new one. Jack works great!

It has been a year since I bought the trailer jack. It is still working like the day I bought it. Very pleased with my purchase.

by:

This Jack has worked great and very happy I replaced it with a unit from etrailer.

by:

New jack works good This jack is the only one I could find that would replace my old weld on jack I didn’t have to cut off old hardware welded to trailer.

by:

Product installed easily over existing mount. Big improvement to the smaller jack I had been using. The jack is on my Sylvansport Go utility trailer. Make sure to use 9” snap ring pliers. Took about 10-15 minutes to remove old jack and install new one. Found etrailer great to work with and very professional and customer oriented. The only improvement I would suggest is to more clearly state the mounting diameters.

by:

I have a 1997 Eagle boat trailer and I raised the jack up to high and the jack came apart. Since the jack mounting bracket is welded to the trailer I wanted a replacement jack that would mount to the existing bracket. I checked a number of boat related sites with no luck than went to etrailer. I found Fulton jack FTJ12W0301 and I read the reviews and it appeared to be a replacement for old Shelby jack model # 5756A. I ordered the Fulton on Sunday night and it arrived on Thursday afternoon by UPS! You need a good large pair of Snap Ring Pliers and it took about 5 min to install the new jack you get a new snap ring which I used and a mounting bracket which I did not need, the new ring fits fine on the existing mounting bracket. The only thing and the reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the pin that holds the jack in up right or swiveled position is 3/8" diameter and the old Shelby pin is 1/2" so there is a little wobble but should not be a problem, just fortunate to replace the old jack so easily when there was no other way to do it without a lot of work. My F-150 has a trailer ball high of 19" and I jacked the trailer receiver to 24" just did not want to go any higher so I'm good to head to the lake!

by:

I know it only a trailer jack but it's supposed to be brand new. Here is a picture of all the nicks and imperfections.

Thank you etrailer, delivery couldn’t have been any faster for free ! The dimensions for the mount on to my original welded plate to my bass boat trailer fit perfectly. The snap ring went right into the milled ring . The new 1200 lb jack is 450 more lifting power. So the jack cranks the boat trailer with ease . Thank you

by:

It’s prefect, works great on my boat trailer “Ellis trailer”. I recommend this product. After one year, it works the same as the first day install.

by:

My original jack on my 1997 EZ Loader trailing for a Champion 191DC Elite bass boat.

Did some on-line research and found this site. Was not sure I could even replace it because the plate is welded on the frame, but after looking at some of the videos on this site I figured out which one to order.

Everything went great with the order and shipping was very fast. the follow up emails also showed that they care about their customers.

I did get a snap ring pillars and the job took about 10 minutes.

Thanks,
Brian

If they don't match up then let me know what your dimensions are and I can help you find something that is compatible. Attached is a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Replacement Trailer Jack Recommendation for Shelby # 5856A
We have the Fulton trailer jack part # FTJ120W0301 which we know fits the same trailer mount as the Shelby 5856A that you have so this would be our best option for a solid jack with a very easy install. This jack has a 1,200 lb capacity, a wheel caster, and is a sidewind which I think is easiest style to crank. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Will a Fulton Trailer Jack Fit the Same Weld On Mount Used by a Shelby Jack
It is possible that you can reuse the same mount. It depends on the style of the jack you have and the one you want to replace it with. For example, the Fulton Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Marine Jack, # FTJ120W0301, has a mounting bracket with an inner diameter of 2-1/2 inches. It uses a 3/8 inch pull pin. If it does not match what you have on the trailer, the jack does come with a new weld-on bracket that you can use.
