Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I give etrailer and it's videos a solid 10! Very, very helpful. Installing hitch was not too bad and only about 90 min. to install. 4 stars because I think Draw Tite (known for excellent products) should have addressed the 4 screws that can't be reinstalled to the bottom of the fascia. Why didn't Draw Tite add a plastic or sheet metal mount to the hitch to reinstall those four screws and properly secure the fascia? Charge 75.00 more? It would then be a 5 star complete hitch.

Great Hitch. I only use for a bike rack but I load that rack with 4 bikes and one being electric. No problems - all good!

by:

Installed on a 2021 Chevy Blazer Premiere overall nice install just watch mutable videos on bumper removal. The directions call for removal of the two facia brackets that hold the bottom of the bumper cover (facia) instead of keeping them off I trimmed the brackets to fit around the hitch and reinstalled them as you can see in the pictures. I also ordered the wiring harness from here and it was a direct fit install couldn’t have gone better. Just a fyi you will need to trim the facia where the hitch receiver is to fit properly but that’s not a big deal because if you plan on keeping the cover on when not in use you will never see it. Just like OEM

Very easy to install hitch and lights.

by:

I ordered the trailer hitch thinking it would be a easy install, but when I read the installation instructions which were very vague and watched several videos I found it was a very difficult installation process. It required removing the entire rear bumper assembly in order to install the hitch. After reviewing the difficult process I called the help center only to learn that there was another hitch that was easier to install. I requested to return the item and ordered the new hitch only to find that it was going to cost me $[XX] shipping to return the first hitch and I am still not sure if the new one was ordered. Not happy that I had to pay the shipping cost to return the fort hitch and unsure if the second one was shipped.

Trailer hitch is very sturdy and well made. I'm not a mechanic and the installation seemed intimidating. Watched their [online] instructional, took my time, and came out perfect!

2023 GMC Acadia

To install this hitch you must eliminate two bumper support bracket which leave your bumper flapping going down the road .
I honestly can't believe that someone would design and sell this product. Poor experience all around from missed delivery date to bad design

For a hitch that installs differently for a 2023 GMC Acadia you can consider part # e36AR. It is still an involved install that will mean the heat shield must be modified or trimmed for hitch installation. It does not require the bumper support bracket to be modified.

by:

It does its job as it tows and was an easy installation. My only complaint is that the hitch receiver is just slightly larger than others I've had and any ball mount I have tried does not fit snug. This creates a very loud banging whenever I tow anything. I have had to utilize clamps to secure it tighter.

Etrailer Expert

9/5/2023

It can be common to experience rattling when using ball mounts or other hitch accessories. You mentioned that you used clamps and I wondered if you meant a clamp style like part # RSCP. If yes, I wondered if it fit well with the receiver since this one is a bit short when it comes to the distance from the cross bar to the receiver end. A different option would be part # GY88XR which is good for tighter space.

by:

Awesome customer service, had a slight problem, was taken care if immediately--

by:
2017 GMC Acadia

I installed this hitch pretty effortlessly, however, there are two small brackets/braces that are attached to the body one end and the other end is connected to the bottom of the of the bumper to keep it from moving, and keep nice and secure. These brackets are not able to be connected once you install the hitch and is left pretty lose. If that is not an issue to you, then I would recommend this hitch.

Yes, the fascia support tab is no longer installed after the hitch is attached. We do recommend using zip ties, like part # DW05726-25.

2019 GMC Acadia

The hitch requires you to permanently remove two of the bumper supports which does leave it a little flimsy.

2023 GMC Acadia

I installed the 76023 hitch receiver on my 2023 Acadia AT4. Overall I'm very happy with the product and the price. The installation went easier than I expected. The fit is good and I'm happy that I can retain my factory hitch cover to hide the receiver when not in use. My only complaint is that there is no accommodation for the removal of two brackets that were in place to stabilize the bumper cover. Following the instructions and video results in a very unstable and floppy bumper cover. Not acceptable to me. I had to fabricate a small bracket from some scrap steel I had and drill and tap some holes to secure everything. After that, everything is solid. I believe this should have been planned and a bracket provided to replace the removed parts during install. If that had been included, I would have given five stars.

Very easy to install and performs as ad vertised.

It took me an hour to do the whole thing by myself! Super easy and good quality!

This company earns the above and beyond title of the year! I was in a jam, not only did they overnight me the hitch, the woman on the phone explained what hitch would be best, how it would look on the truck, and they make it idiot proof to install it!!! From box to installed within a half hour and I’m not to savvy with a wrench! These guys came thru and killed it!

by:

Excellent choice, installed in 1 hr and 10 min, I stressed about removing the fascia, but it was easy , the only drawback was the 2021 Acadia has two support brackets that have to be removed, and cannot be reinstalled, leaving the fascia above the hitch loose, but I will create a support myself, no problem, local Chevy dealer wanted 400 dollars to do what I did in just over an hr,

by:
2017 GMC Acadia

I am so excited and amazed at this product. The dealership wanted to charge me $462.34 to order it, and $429.00 to install it. $891.39, and that doesn't include tax and fees. I must say YouTube is my very best friend as I install the hitch and harness in less than an hour on my 2017 Acadia, and saved [About $750]. I will order all my needed items from Etrailer. The order can within four days. Thank you and if I could give 10 stars I would. CET Thomas, Aka Batman, Byron, GA

2019 GMC Acadia

Installed fairly easily in my 2019 Acadia. Rob's install video was great and easy to follow - never had a doubt as to what I needed to do at each step. By myself, it was 3 or 4 beer job with some creative use of ratchet straps in place of an extra set of hands. Love how this hitch sits higher than Curt one.

This was also part of the install on my friends Arcadia. I did this job with minor trim work and instillation was also straight forward. I did watch a brief video online for reference prior to install. I am mechanically inclined and most anyone will have little issues. Not my first rodeo and this company makes it simple and friendly to do. Thank you again!

A great option for your 2020 GMC Acadia is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76023. There is one trailer hitch receiver that stands out as the best option for a bike rack for your 2018 GMC Acadia, which is from Draw-Tite: - Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76023 The reason I really like the Draw-Tite more than the other hitch that fits your Acadia, the Curt # C13293, is because the Draw-Tite has better bumper and ground clearances.
