Recommended Ball Mount For Towing And Accessory Mount For Cargo Carrier
Question:
I have a 34foot CLA RV that I usually tow only a light single rail motorcycle trailer with. This year Id like to add a cargo carrier on that hitch to haul my Webber Premier grill 80lbs?, while still pulling the bike on trailer. What ya got?

For your application, I recommend the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210. This will allow you to tow your motorcycle as well as carry your grill with a cargo carrier like the 31x47 Pro Series Solo Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 400 lbs, # PS1040100. This cargo carrier is 48 inches long x 32 inches wide x 3 inches deep. It also has a 4 inch shank rise. You will want to make sure your cargo carrier will allow your trailer to operate without issue. This ball mount has a maximum tongue weight rating of 750 lbs, but you may be limited to your hitch rating. Whichever rating is lesser will be the maximum capacity to operate within the limits of.
You will need to get a 2 inch ball like # 63845 or a 2-5/16 inch ball like # 63847 for this application to fit with your trailer coupler.
Another option is the MaxxTow Ball Mount w/ 2" Accessory Receiver - 2" Hitches - 1-5/8" Drop - 5,000 lbs, # MT70066. This ball mount has an overall length of 16-1/2 inches. I've attached a picture of dimensions to help. This ball mount has a maximum tongue weight rating of 500 lbs.
