Perfect solution to adapting my hitch to my bike rack.
The people at U Hall were very helpful.

by:

The fact that it's steel is a plus, and it extends the hitch so that the bike rack that's attached now is far enough away from the hatch to not bang against it. Great product!

by:

Ordered for our Kuat rear mount bike rack, as our SUV had a larger hitch receiver. Well built, clean machining and a perfect fit. Fast shipping and exactly as advertised. Great communication surrounding the order. Couldn't recommend more.

by:

On time delivery, thanks!

by:

Exactly what I needed. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Bike rack is 1 1/4 inch and I needed this adapter to put it into my 2" hitch receiver.
Adds a little distance to keep the bikes away from the back of my Jeep.

Great product. Does exactly what its supposed to do.

by:

Very good service, products as expected delivered at time

by:

It does the job, but it does have some wobble. I got this to put a bike rack on, and needed to get an anti-wobble kit to hold it in place. I suppose if you had a trailer the wobble wouldn't matter as much, but watching my bikes bounce around through the rear window was unsettling.

Once there are multiple attachment points on a hitch accessory, sometimes an anti-rattle device like Item # e99007 is needed.

by:

great company! quick turnaround. when i installed a new axel on my trailer a few years back support was always there for my questions. i recommend them for anyone needing the products they supply

by:

Again, a well-made product! I love buying products that are made right here.

by:

Hitch adapter is exactly what I ordered. However this review is not really about the adapter itself. It is about Etrailer.com's customer service. The adapter was shipped in the box along with a new hitch that I had ordered. The shipper somehow destroyed the box and only the hitch arrived. The adapter was lost. When I reported the missing adapter, Etrailer.com immediately shipped out a new adapter, which I received a couple of days later. Problems do happen, what makes the difference is how a company responds and takes care of the problem. Etrailer.com response and handling of the problem far exceeded my expectations and will be one of the reasons I will consider them first for any of my needs that they can supply. Bravo Zulu

The trailer hitch and accessories we purchased through etrailer for my wife's RAV4 Hybrid were reasonably priced, excellent quality, and have proved perfect for our needs. It's the 2nd time we've purchased a similar package from you nice folks. I've learned you're exactly the place I need to go when I need a hitch or related products. Thanks from a most satisfied repeat customer.

by:

Product performed very well. Price was very reasonable, customer service was excellent and it was shipped and received in about 48 hours. Would highly recommend etrailer.com

no issues at all. Met expectations

by:

Recently I purchased a stealth hitch for my 2022 BMW X5, (model SH25VR), and had the techs from etrailer install it. I could not be more pleased with the quality and service that I received. Since this is my wife's car, I knew she would be very conscious of the appearance and this style of hitch gives the best of both worlds, completely hidden, (when the receiver is not engaged), and easy to install when needed. I've always been taught that you pay for quality once, and with this product and installation, that is truly the case.

by:

The 4" adapter is about right for length.......not too short and not too long.
Heavy duty construction should bring longevity of use. I don't like the "slop"
fit ......but imagine it has to be that way. Ordered bracket to tighten this up to
stop movement of the bike rack and for other uses. Would suggest the sales
force mention these brackets to make it one purchase, instead of two, if people
want to tighten up the fit. The adaption from 2" to 1 1/4" for bike rack is perfect.
Company sells several options for stopping the rattles and sway.

by:

Excellent Adapter for extending and attaching a Thule bike rack to a 2" receiver. More solid than a Thule sleeve, and the extensions provide ample clearance to open the SUV Rear Door.

by:

The adapter is pretty straight forward. I am writing this review because I wish I had called and spoken to someone when I first bought the hitch. I bought the hitch (no shipping charges), then realized I need an adapter. I paid shipping charges for the adapter and then realized I really wanted anti-vibration, locking pins (more shipping charges). This is no reflection on etrailer, they're great. But there is a lesson to be learned from my lack of forethought.

by:

This is a simple product that allows you to use 1 1/4 inch receiver mount in a 2 inch receiver. I'm using it for mounting a ATV winch receiver mount in the front receiver on my pickup truck. As with all steel Curt products it is very well made and seem to have powered coating to make it last a long time; time will tell.

by:

About what you would expect. A little more play than I was hoping for. Bike rack was a little wobbly but some tie-downs shored things up. Well made product.

by:

Purchased this when I got a new hitch from etrailer for my new car. Made sure I'm ready for any possible hitch situation, and this fit the bill perfectly. Great price, great product.

by:

Bought this to put into Curt hitch receiver in order to fit my bike rack. No issues and looks great. Highly recommend.

by:

Has worked well for me. Use it to adapt my 2 inch hitch so I can use my bike carrier. Is well made

by:

The hitch pin and clip didn’t fit the 2” receiver part to small. It needs a 5/8” x 3” to 31/2” long hitch pin. The other pin sent fits the 11/4” receiver but still to short for clip to go in.

Tried to call two different days after receiving order could never get through.

by:

I used this to attach hitch-mounted bike rack to a newly-installed front hitch. It takes the bike rack out beyond the bumper and grill, leaving plenty of clearance.

by:

Worked as described and allowed continued use of older bicycle rack made
for 1 -1/4 hitch.

  • Using an Adapter on a 2 Hitch for a 1-1/4 Boone Outdoor Tailgate Table on a 2018 Ford Edge
You can indeed use a hitch adapter to pair a 1-1/4" accessory like the Boone Outdoor Tailgate Table, part # BH70114, with a 2" receiver. Using an adapter reduces your tongue weight by 50%, so remember that if you plan on towing heavier accessories with a 1-1/4" shank. If you are worried about sway, then you need an adapter that has a shorter shank. I recommend the Curt Adapter, part # C45770. It only has 4" between the center of one hitch pin hole to the other. I've linked to a video review...

Currently the 2" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C94WR is the only size Curt offers for your 2023 Hyundai Tucson. You will be able to use their Reducer # C45770 which will allow you to use your existing 1-1/4" accessories. We do not have any other size receivers from our other manufacturers. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU94FR will give you a 4-way flat connector. We do also have the Tekonsha Harness # TK44ZR if you wish to have a 7-way and be able to install a Brake Controller...

Hey Kenneth, so it looks like you should be able to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # C45770. This adapter would go into your 1 1/4" hitch and expand it to a 2" opening so you can use the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH83JV. Just be aware that whenever you use a hitch adapter like # C45770 you will lose approximately 50 percent of your hitches overall capacity.

With this adapter, you will be able to use your 1-1/4" Buckhorn on a 2-inch receiver. It is important to note that using this adapter will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV will work directly with your 2012 Toyota Prius. This is the one you will need to use since your Prius has a class 1 receiver. For using the same rack with your Silverado 2500HD that has the 2-1/2" receiver you will need 2 adapters. I recommend the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2182 that will slide into the receiver and make the receiver tube 2". I do have an option for you but all of the reducer sleeves like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # C45770 are going to be problematic in regards to excess slop at the connection point. However, what you can do to avoid this is use an anti-rattle device. The best anti-rattle devices we have are the Roadmaster Anti-Rattle devices which can be used for both the hitch reducer, and your 1-1/4" accessories. For the 2" side of the reducer you can use part # RM-061 and for the 1-1/4"...

The Curt Receiver has a class III rating, and will be able to handle 3,500 pounds of gross towing weight and 350 pounds of tongue weight. • How to Use Rola Convoy with 1-1/4 Shank on 2012 Jeep Liberty with 2 Receiver
There is not a specific adapter for the Rola Convoy 9307 to adapt to a 2" receiver but you can use a hitch reducer sleeve like the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HT02 to make the 2" hitch on your 2012 Jeep Liberty into a 1-1/4" receiver. I prefer this to an extension type adapter because it uses the existing receiver and does not extend away from the cross tube significantly, so it won't reduce your tongue weight by 50% like the # C45770 would.

Hitch pins are not included with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # C45770. The reason they aren't is that not everyone needs a hitch pin so instead of forcing people to pay extra for a part they may not need it's offered separately. For the 1-1/4 inch portion of the adapter the pin and clip you'd need is the part # F-4 and then for the 2 inch portion you'd want the part # PC3.

Technically yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" - 4" Long # C45770 will work with your Yakima Dr. Tray bike rack, though the adapter will reduce the tongue weight of your hitch by 50%, and the Dr. Tray instructions say not to use the rack with a hitch extender or adapter. If this is the adapter you need, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" - 4" Long # C45770. This is the shortest adapter we carry for 2" to 1-1/4".
