I pulled my boat for 1,500 miles soon after replacing the old pump. Brakes were effective and worked perfect. That was a year ago. Last week I launched my boat for the first time since then. No brakes. After a lot of contact cleaner, plugging and unplugging the cable to the truck, exercising the brake actuator, I finally got the pump to work again. That was the reason I replaced the original pump which was inop because of not being used. If you don't use it, you will lose it. It is a very expensive part. Dexter will not sell you the electronic pressure proportional valve that gets gummed up causing the pump to fail. Dexter will not give you the part number for that valve. Unfortunately, the stamped part number got obliterated part number during removal was unreadable. This was a very expensive lesson to learn, $1,069.98. In the future I will be exceptional careful when removing the valve should I have another failure. That valve will probably sell for less than $100.00.

As far as Etrailer is concerned, they are the best when it comes to shipping quickly and helping the customer get what he needs.

I am most please that this company stands by their product and is a pleasure to deal with!!!!!!!!!!!!

by:

They sent package with incorrect wiring but sent the new one. Easy install great customer service

by:

Expensive but worth every penny! Works like a charm, it does have a whining sound when in operation, this includes stop lights, you'll sit there with a constant buzzing, it's not super loud but noticeable. I have mine installed in a tongue tool box to protect from theft and weather so the sound is muffled. The extra safety and braking performance is worth though!

by:

The actuator kit has really worked well! Installation was straight forward, and the system has worked great on my boat trailer. Far better than the original surge brake system.

by:

E trailer came through with limited quantities of eoh activator kits when no one else had them.
And a real person tracked my order and send me emails about status

by:

i used the same unit on my old trailer. installing this one on my new boat trailer, they work great

by:

Nice to have real brakes on the camper.

Titan
has a great tech help line. I explained the problem i was facing and was given 2 things to verify. Less than 5 minutes of trouble shooting and I had it working just like it is supposed to. Not only did they help me solve my problem, but I was emailed a revised owners manual and field trouble shooting guide.

Great products and great CS from titan

by:

Great kit and value. Wish including battery & box for simple but see why as some may want bigger battery

by:

Purchase this product a few years ago. Unfortunately, it accidentally got damaged in an accident. It worked so well that my customer asked to order the same for replacement.

  • Why Do Trailer Brakes have to be Bled After 100 Miles Using the Titan Brakerite EHB
After a certain amount of use after the initial installation you will want to bleed the brakes again to ensure that there is no air in the system and that everything is still working properly with the Titan BrakeRite # T4813102 and the brakes. After that you would just follow a regular maintenance schedule.

  • Should Trailer Brake Pads Fail After 3 Years
It is possible that your brake pads could fail after 3 years depending how often you use the trailer, Basically different applications, loads, driving styles and other factors have an effect on how quickly brakes will need replaced. Adjust the brakes every 3,000 miles or when there is a question in the brake performance. For a saltwater marine environment stainless steel brake components, not aluminum, are the best possible option for durability and corrosion resistance. Although they...

  • Quality Product Comparison of Brakerite Versus Dexter Electric Over Hydraulic Actuators
I sure can compare the quality difference of the Brakerite # T4813102 and the Dexter # K71-651 for you. The Dexter actuator is more durable because of its metal housing versus the plastic housing on the Brakerite actuator. The Brakerite has a 1 year warranty while the Dexter has a 2 year limited warranty. The Dexter doesn't have an adapter for OEM brake controllers, and will not be compatible with most OEM integrated brake controllers, but will be fine with the EOH aftermarket brake...

  • Best Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Single Axle Trailer Recommendation
The best electric over hydraulic actuator kit we offer that includes brake lines is the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Disc Brakes # HBA16-252-82 which is designed for trailers that are single or tandem axle. There would just be a few lines and fittings you wouldn't need to use. We have found that the Hydrastar actuators are by far the most reliable and best performing is why we recommend them so highly.

The breakaway battery used with the Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator # T4813102 that you referenced must have at least 12 amp hours. The battery will be mounted on the trailer. For a kit that includes both breakaway batteries needed you would want the part # T4822100.

  • Troubleshooting Brake Rite Disc Brake Electric over Hydraulic Actuator On 2018 Ford F-450
The factory brake controller on your 2018 Ford F-450 is designed to work on electric over hydraulic brake systems. One note I did find in your owners manual is brake output is diminished by the truck at speeds of 11mph or lower so this will explain why when you press the brake pedal you do not get the same output as when using the manual activation. The simplest way to test the actuator is by simply pulling the breakaway cable and verifying it does activate and continuously run. You will...

  • Troubleshooting Titan BrakeRite Electric Over Hydraulic Brake System Not Building Pressure
It sounds like that there is something causing a issue with the power coming in from your brake controller (blue wire). To start you will want to verify that you are getting constant 12 volt power using a Multimeter # PT89ZR, to your black wire and that there are no issues with the main power going into this wire. Titan recommends that this wire have at least 30amps of power. Since the breakaway switch has its own power source it doesn't rely on the black wire for its power. Next you...

  • Does Integrated Brake Controller of 2015 Chevy Silverado work w Titan Electric Over Hydraulic
Your 2015 Chevy Silverado integrated brake controller SHOULD work fine with this actuator as in 2015 Chevy started installing brake controllers in their trucks that are compatible with electric over hydraulic actuators. We have found that typically an aftermarket one like the P2 # 90885 will work best. But yours should work just fine.

He stated that for 2011, Dodge was supposed to have rectified a problem that prevented earlier model years with factory brake controllers from working with this system.
