Thanks for providing hard to find parts. You are my go to source for trailer parts!!

by:

PERFECT! Customer service. Personal, direct communication. Constant updates and alternative suggestions to parts I had not thought of. Follow up was great and all my parts arrived in great shape.
I’ll always be a fan of E TRAILER

by:

brakes work great but the instalation wasn't the best calipers rub on the rim and nobody had any advise to get it to work. Even though it says that it fits a 16 inch rim but thay don't but I got it figured out no help from the compinies that make or sell the item. and when the packages showed up the boxes were all smashed up and the calipeers and brakes were all scratched so the e coating is worthless but there was nothing anyone could do. And one of the caliper bolts had fell out and i had to order a new one because they couldn't figure out how to send a bolt that fits. very disappointed

by:

Always great and timely service. Correct parts in a very quick turn around. I've been doing business with etrailer for years and have bought many items from them because of their great service and quick delivery. With all the incompetence these days, it's nice to deal with true professionals.

by:

Nice upgrade from electric drum brakes to disc brakes. Clearance on calipers to my 16” steel trailer rims was tight. May upgrade to 17.5” rims in the future.

by:

Works great with no problems whatsoever.

by:

Product was used and works fine I had to cut 1/4 inch line to run it as I wanted to bothsides and teed it infront of drivers side to across to curbside for othere wheels which I ran a 3/16 line to each wheel. I had to buy extra fittings but all worked out brakes work as designed.

I had to upgrade my fifth wheel to a motorhome do to my wifes disability how ever every thing worked out just fine fo the short time I used it.

I recently ordered a complete hydraulic disc brake kit for my horse trailer, as I wanted to change out the worn out electric drum brakes with something better. I worked with Carla on getting all of the right parts to make this changeover. She was very helpful and made sure that I got all of the necessary parts on order. I received everything in one shipment and set out to install the brake kits on all four wheels.

I ran into a problem with the brake line kit that was supplied by HydraStar...they didn't include the brake lines and fittings for the second axle as was specified in my order, so I had to make a special run to my local auto parts house to get the lines and fitting at an additional cost. I placed a call to eTrailer to let them know what happened and they said that they would have a tech from HydraStar give me a call. NEVER GOT A CALL FROM THEM!!!!!! Anyway, the installation proceeded and all went smoothly after that. It took me two and a half days to do this entire installation myself and I am very happy with the results. I just got back from a 2000 mile trip with the trailer and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Carla and eTrailer for your help and providing good quality products.

by:

I changed out my electric drum brakes on my Montana fifth wheel with this hydraulic brake actuator and Kodiak discs rotor system . What a difference this new brake system has made. I can now lock down the trailer tires if needed and drive much more relaxed on the highway knowing I can stop on a dime.

by:

Have not installed items at this time, but service has been GREAT so far. Waiting for a few more parts.

working great

by:

etrailer as always has what I need, ships fast, and product is "as advertised"!
A pleasure to talk to the tech's when I have questions and even go as far as calling manufacturer to verify equipment selections.
Keep up the GREAT work.

by:

Everything was very quick and arrived on time. Did get 2 damaged caliper fittings but customer service was awesome and is going to send me replacements. I would suggest that better packaging for the calipers.

  • Best Parts Needed to Convert Dexter 7,000 lb Trailer Axles to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc
For your Dexter 7k Axles we have the Dexter disc brake kit part # K71-694-695-10 which comes with the brake and hub parts for both sides of the axle. Then for a kit that includes the actuator, breakaway, 7-way kit and juntion box you'd want the part # HS381-9067. For a tandem axle brake line kit that's 25 feet long for the main line we have the part # HS496-252. You will need a brake controller that is compatible with this style of brakes. For that the best option is the Prodigy P3 part...

  • Disc Brake Conversion Parts For 10,000 lb Dexter Axle Made Before 2009
Thank you so much for that information, and we can get you everything you need to convert to a disc brake set up for your 10k Dexter axles. While there isn't a single kit, we do have all of the parts you need, and let's start with the brake kit itself: - Kodiak Disc Brakes - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Raw Finish - Leaf Spring - 10K Dexter and Lippert # K2R1058D11 This kit is designed to fit your 10k Dexter axles from pre-2009, which is why the year is important, and has all the parts you...

  • Determining Correct Axle Upgrade For 2018 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
I would be happy to make a recommendation for upgraded axles and suspension components for your 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK, but first I will need a few measurements from your current components. Starting with the axle you will need to measure your current axles from hub face to hub face and from spring center to spring center to determine the correct length the replacement axle would need to be. For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 89" Long - 5,200 lbs...

  • Disc Brake Conversion On 5th Wheel With Tandem 4400 lb Axles
We don't carry a kit compatible with the 4400 lb axles. We have 3500 lb assemblies that will fit your axles, but that will lower your capacity and will require new wheels because they are only compatible with 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you choose to go this route, I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet and Stainless - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35DS. The brake flange may require customized mounting because you have the 4400 lb axle. We will also need an...

To convert your gooseneck trailer from electric drum brakes to EOH (electric over hydraulic) brakes you'll need a few items, all of which are detailed in the linked article on adding an EOH braking system to a trailer. These include the hydraulic brake assemblies, the hub/drums you have, an EOH actuator like the HydraStar # HBA-12, a brake line kit, emergency breakaway kit and a compatible trailer brake controller that will work with an EOH actuator. To replace your leaking seals, you will want the Unitized Oil Seal # 10-51. This is a confirmed fit for your hubs. I've attached a video of an oil seal installation on a similar hub to help. For your disc brake conversion, you will need to use the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly - 9,000-10,000-lb Axles - 8 on 6-1/2 - Oil Bath # 8-288-3UC1 and then the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Raw Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000-lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E compatible with these hub assemblies...

You can click on the linked page to see our brake lines and brake line kits for boat trailers. You'll first select either disc or drum brakes using the filters on the page. We offer brake lines on their own, such as the 1-foot line # BH-3MFS-1 from Kodiak that uses 2 standard male flare nut fittings or their 6-foot # BH-3MFS-6. Lengths up to 24-feet are offered, part # HS496-252 which is for tandem-axle drum brakes. We do not offer quick-disconnect type fittings.

  • Can The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit for 5,200 - 6,000lb Axles Be Used On 3,500lb Dexter Axles?
I have a different option for you, but the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR526D you were looking at is designed for 5,200 - 6000lb axles and as such will not work with your 3,500lb Dexter axle. Instead you will need to go with the 3,500lb Disc Brake Kit # K2HR35DS as it uses the same # L68149 and # L44649 bearing combination as your axles, and is designed for the 4-bolt brake mounting flange you have. With that said this kit and all of the brake kits for a 3,500lb axle are only rated for...

  • Recommended Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Set Up for 2016 Montana 3710FL 5th Wheel
I was able to confirm that your Montana 3710FL uses tandem 7000 lb axles. A 7K axle would typically have an 8 on 6-1/2 wheel bolt pattern and the spindles would be compatible with a 25580 inner and an 14125A outer bearing. You'll want to identify the inner and outer wheel bearings used by your current hub/drums. Let me know if your hubs uses a different outer bearing. If your drums use the 25580 inner and 14125A outer bearing, I'd recommend the Kodiak 13 Inch Hub/Rotor Kit, part # K2HR712E....

  • Do Trailer Brake Lines Need to Run On the Inside or Outside of a Trailer Frame
If you can route the brake lines of the part # HS496-252 on the inside of your trailer frame that's what I would recommend since it will give the lines the most protection as possible. Otherwise running them on the outside is fine too, but just try to set the lines up so that they are out of the way of moving parts.

We can get you set up with an electric over hydraulic system for your trailer with 15,000 lb tandem axles. I will say that you will not want to go with the higher pressure 1,6000 psi actuator, which is too high for drum brakes and can potentially blow out the wheel cylinder. What you can do though is go with a 1,200 psi actuator made for drum brakes, which will still give you excellent stopping power. • Which Disc Brake Kit is Going to Be Best For a Trailer With 7,000LB Tandem Axles?
I feel the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit # HSE7K-T1 is of similar quality to the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD66FR. If you are looking for the best brakes I prefer the DeeMaxx Disc Brakes # DE88YR. These rotors have additional venting and the calipers have a stainless steel construction to resist corrosion which often leads to the caliper failing and needing replaced. • How to Convert Trailer Drum Brakes Over to Disc Brakes
There is a good way to get the check valve out of your current actuator and save some money. What you will need to do is remove the large snap ring from the front of your actuator where the brake line attaches, pull the spring out, and at the end of the spring there will be a metal check valve. If you remove that check valve and reassemble the brake assembly without it you will be ready to use disc brakes. Or a less invasive way is to puncture the check valve, basically you would just...
