Roller Bunks

CE Smith's roller bunks convert your boat trailer's guide-ons from bunk board style to roller style. Instead of sliding on and off your trailer's bunk boards, your boat will smoothly roll. This not only simplifies the loading and unloading process, but it also protects your boat's hull against scratches. Mounted in a rust-resistant galvanized steel channel, the durable rubber rollers absorb road shock during trailering.

Installation

The roller bunks are pre-assembled and can be mounted directly to your existing bunk boards (mounting hardware is sold separately). If you want to replace your bunk boards and attach the roller bunks to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10003G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the roller bunks at different heights. In addition, the brackets enable the bunks to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

Galvanized Steel

Steel parts are galvanized by being hot-dipped in zinc after they have been stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

A couple of the lakes I fish regularly have shallow ramps so Roller Bunks should make launching and retrieving my boat somewhat easier. Changing from basic Bunk Boards to Roller Bunks on my C.E. Smith Sport Utility Trailer was an easy process. Even though it was an option I chose not to mount the Roller Bunks directly onto the Bunk Boards but instead to remove the boards and mount the rollers directly to the frame. I used the same Bolsters I already had mounted with the Bunk Boards but removed the swivel bracket with two holes and replaced them with single hole brackets that fit the Roller Bunks. I did however have to drill one hole in each Roller Bunk frame in order to line up with the holes in the front swivel brackets. A slight adjustment of the bolsters toward each other was necessary so the Roller Bunks would be centered under my boat in the proper location. I have not launched my boat yet but it certainly moves more freely with the Roller Bunks.

It’s been about a year since I replaced the bunk boards on my C.E. Smith Sport Utility Trailer with roller bunks and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. My boat is so much easier and quicker to unload and load. However, you have to be careful not to detach the winch strap without someone holding onto or tying off a mooring line before you back the trailer down a ramp into the water as the boat will roll off the trailer and float out of reach. Duh!!! Something it wouldn’t so easily do on bunk boards. That describes just how easy it is to launch and retrieve your boat using roller bunks. Fortunately, the wind was blowing in exactly the right direction to bring the boat back to the doc. A cold swim was the only other option since no one else was on the lake. A valuable lesson learned!

I have rollers on my big fiber life boat trailer also but man, I bought these to run my aluminum boat on the trailer. It is great it loads very easily. Give it just a little bit of throttle just a little bit of idol crawl right up there with no problem I could be like 3 feet out of the water and it’ll still go right up there.

by:

I bought a set of these for one of my watercraft and they make getting them on and off the trailer in the garage so easy I can do it by myself. So I bought another pair for my other pwc. Very well made also.

by:

top quality, super fast shipping and a GREAT price.

perfect. allows me to easily launch and load by myself.

by:

I bought for making my 21’6” fiberglass boat. Very hard to load with the wood carpet covered boards. Replaced 2 boards with the new rollers. What a difference. Very easy to load. I have 2 rollers still in boxes. Would I be able to return for refund?

by:

I got these for my 12ft tracker topper. I like to fish small ponds and lakes with "sketchy" boat launches, so I opted for some roller bunks and they've made it a lot easier so far. I've only been out twice as of writing this, but launching and loading have been easier. Get a winch hook that operates with one hand so you can hold the boat up while you unhook it AT THE WATER. As soon as you let go, the boat will easily coast into the water.

great rollers well made thanks.

@Harley They do work very nicely!!

by:

ETRAILER ships FAST! Rollers are sold two to a pack and are packaged securely. Heavy duty rail that has pre-drilled mounting holes. Rollers are firm, but should be fine for fiberglass hulls. Mount to the bunks or get a mounting option sold seperately.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this outfit/transaction is worth it.
Good quality product, but what really impressed me was the fast delivery time.
We all hear about supply chain issues, but this vendor did an outstanding job.
Thank you very much.

One year later and still working well. Thanks again.

by:

I just received the roller bunks today, and right out of the box they exceeded my expectations. I am happy with my etrailer purchase for my Jet Ski. I will send photos after installation.

by:

Very happy with the product!

by:

Would be nice if they came with angle part of bracket. Rather than wasting money on all new brackets, I drilled 3/8" holes in my old bunk brackets so I could bolt the new roller bunks on.

by:

Well made and perfect for boat storage.

by:

Love these bunk rollers. I often launch in shallow water, and this gives me the ability to roll the boat off, rather than slide on dry carpeted buns. Second set.

by:

I used the bunks for a boat lift. Easy on, easy off.
Very nice product. Thanks.

by:

They were easy to install. I mounted them right on top of my carpeted bunks. The boat rolls easily onto them. But the boat also rolls very easily off the trailer now so be carefully. I am very pleased with this product and I haven't had an issue in the year I've owned them.

by:

Good quality. No way of knowing how it will last, but looks like it will.

by:

The bunks are high quality. They were delivered quickly. They help me launch from a shallow ramp.

After 1 year of use, I would never want to go back to using carpeted bunks. I dont have to get my feet wet to launch or retrieve my 1448 Jon boat. It really works great if you have a boat with straight ribsstraking.

by:

Well made, rugged product. All rollers turn smoothly. Prompt shipping

by:

Well made, sturdy and already installed on my bunk trailer. It is much easier to launch my small boat than before I installed the roller bunks. I should have bought these years ago.

Looks good, easy install, boat will go on this weekend to test it out

These worked perfectly replacing the forty year old roller bunks I had. Shipped very quickly.

Completely updated the axle, suspension, and added roller bunks to my waverunner trailer. Have taken the waverunner in for the winter and back out for the summer one time. All components were great and the trailer rides really well!

  • Can 2 Roller Bunks be Added to Trailer In a Line without Weight of Boat Flexing them at Junction
It depends on how you have them mounted to the trailer. If you attach them directly to the bunk boards then the boards will fully support the rollers and the two sections will not flex. If you remove the wooden bunks and mount them with brackets then they could flex depending on where you have the brackets mounted and where you place the brackets. There aren't 8 foot long sections available so to get 8 feet you would have to put 2 of the 4 foot sections in a line.

The heavy duty rubber rollers will not damage your kayak when it is slid up or down the ramp. You will want to make sure that you can secure these properly.
