Product: Extension is good. All parts were in package. All holes were positioned properly and assembly took maybe 30 minutes or less. Weight limit is 72kg for 4 bikes per instructions. Final construction looks good and solid.
Etrailer: awesome folks. You are rocks!
Shipment was fast taking into account covid and other obstacles all companies are struggling now

  • Subaru 2003 Forester Hitch Installation and Platform Style 4-Bike Rack Recommendation
It's not necessary to use a lift to install a hitch on your Forester, but if you have or can borrow ramps or jack stands from somebody, it will make the installation much easier. If that's not an option, we offer some fairly inexpensive ramps as part # FT11909MI or jack stands as part # PTW41021. Either the Curt # C12038 or the Draw-Tite # 36311 would work fine for you. They install in the same manner, and have identical capacities. Both install with standard metric wrenches or sockets...

  • Can the Thule DoubleTrack Bike Rack Carry Fat Tire Bikes?
I have an option for you, but the now discontinued Thule DoubleTrack Bike Rack TH990XT can only fit bike tires of up to 2-1/2" wide and it does not have fat bike tire adapters. For a Thule branded bike rack compatible with 5" wide tires I recommend the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Rack # TH83JV. This rack is designed for fat tires up to 5" wide, and will accommodate bikes weighing up to 60lbs each. I really like this rack since you can upgrade it to a 4-bike rack by using the 2-Bike Add-On...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack For 4 Bikes Compatible with 2015 Subaru Outback
For your 2015 Subaru Outback, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2" # 75673. This is a very sturdy hitch that will give you the support you need for your bike carrier. The only measurements that will be important for your bike rack is the height of the receiver which is 15 inches from the ground to the top most inner portion of the receiver and the center of the hitch pin hole will be 5 inches from the outer most part of the bumper. I've attached...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Toyota RAV4 and 4-Bike Platform Style Bike Rack
The etrailer trailer hitch # e98864 is an excellent choice for your 2017 Toyota RAV4 and the Thule T2 Pro XTR bike rack, # TH83JV with 2-bike add on # TH9036XT. Clearance will not be an issue. The hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 525 pounds but you are limited to the capacity of the vehicle as stated in the owner's manual. I checked the manual and it states the tongue weight should be 9 to 11 percent of the gross trailer weight. Since the gross trailer weight capacity of the vehicle...

  • Correct 2-Bike Add-on For a Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack
We do have the add-on that you need for your Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH83JV (9034XTR), but the 9046 is not the correct add-on. The correct add-on is the 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB for 2" Hitches # TH9036XT.

  • Availability of 2 Bike Add-on for Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch
The Thule T2 Pro that fits the 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver, like part # TH23JV, was not built to accommodate the 2 bike add-on so you will need to make sure that you have a 2 inch hitch receiver on your vehicle. You can then purchase the T2 Pro XTR for 2 inch hitches as part # TH83JV, and then the add-ons later with part # TH9036XT. Keep in mind that the 4 bike option is for use on a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver. You will also want to make sure that you do not exceed the tongue...

  • Differences Between a Class I and Class III Hitch for Carrying Bikes on a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek
You're right, there are no Class II trailer hitches available for the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek. This is because of the vehicle's ability to tow larger trailers when equipped with the larger Class III hitches. There are very few reasons to use a Class III trailer hitch for your proposed applications. I've included a link to a few of our help articles that dive further into this below, but in summary, you'd want the Class III if you're a fan of having more options and flexibility or think...

  • Does the Hollywood Racks TRS # HR3000 Have a 2-Bike Add-on
The Hollywood Racks TRS # HR3000 that you referenced does not have an extension for 2 bikes, but we do have some other options that you may be interested in. Among the options that we have I recommend going with the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # TH83JV. It is compatible with 2-inch hitch receivers and can carry 2 bikes. If you would like to carry 4 bikes you can either purchase the add-on # TH9036XT separately or you could just go ahead and get the...

  • Recommended 4 Bike Rack Compatible with 60mm Aero Rims
This is a really great question. Both the Yakima HoldUp EVO Y02479-2 and the Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV with 2-bike add on # TH9036XT are designed to hold fat tires that are up to 5" wide, so the straps are going to be around 5-1/2" to 6" long. Because 60mm is a little over 2", it's going to be really similar to carrying a 5" wide tire when you take the distance to get up and over the rims, so either one of these would work well. When it comes to choosing between the two, I generally prefer...

  • Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack Will Not Fold Up on 2011 Toyota Sienna with Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installed
I have a solution for you but first a little background information. The 5 inch clearance measurement for the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75237 was taken on a 2015 Toyota Sienna. We haven't had a 2011 in to install this hitch and take that measurement. Another thing is the Swagman XTC4 that you also purchased, # S64665, is only 3-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier when it is folded up. So even if the measurement had been exactly 5 inches it still...

  • Installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76138 on a 2017 Mazda CX-5
There is a plastic underbody panel that is underneath the rear bumper which is removed by taking out the 2 plastic fasteners. This piece is cosmetic and will not void the warranty by being removed. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76138 will actually sit in the same place that the panel was removed from. Since you are wanting to carry 4 bikes, be sure to consult your owner's manual to ensure that you can do it safely. Any local shop will be able to install this hitch receiver...

The hitch features both the receiver size (2 inches) and weight capacity needed to handle the loaded carrier so you will not have any issues. Thule, Yakima, and most other carriers use the Class system when specifying what their carriers work with because it's just an easier way to indicate...

The 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XT part # TH9036XT will not work with your original Thule T2 Pro 9034, and as you mentioned, the correct replacement add-on, part 9036 is no longer available. It is only compatible with the Thule T2 Pro XTR for 2" hitches, part # TH83JV. So, if you need to carry a total of 4 bikes, your best bet would be to try to sell your T2 Pro XTR and put that towards a new bike rack. • Can Bike Rack be Modified to use With Factory Hitch on 2018 Buick Enclave
I'm sorry to hear that the awesome Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Rack # TH83JV with 2-bike add on # TH9036XT you got isn't working in the factory hitch of your 2018 Buick Enclave. Unfortunately the problem with a lot of these factory hitches is that they don't have the needed clearance from hitch face to pin hole to use bike racks. Modifying the hitch or bike rack in any way is potentially dangerous and I can't recommend or suggest you do it. It could result in your bike rack, particularly...

I reached out to my contact at Thule and she wasn't able to offer any additional advice with regards to removing the 2 Bike Add-On # TH9036XT from your T2 Bike Rack. There are 2 bolts at the connection point on the mast that need to be removed before the piece can be taken out. Additionally you will need to loosen up the linkage with the included hex key, which is threaded into the center bolt hole below where the Add-On piece slides in. Once this is done you should be able to simply...

A feature that really stands out with regards to the Saris SuperClamp design (especially when compared to its peers) is its overall length.
