Our cross tube is going to be for the most part all hidden behind the bumper, we're really just going to see the receiver tube where it sticks out and comes out the back here. It uses a five ace inch, hitch pin and clip. Now one doesn't come included with the hitch but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com.It features hoop style safety chain loops that have an extremely large opening that should accommodate every shape, size, and style of safety chain without any problems. It features a 525 pound tongue weight and that's the force going down on top of the receiver. Today on our 2016 Honda CRV, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom Fit Class Three Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number is 75742. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. You see our side plates are going to come down on each side. They're going to meet here, in the middle at our hitch. This is a class three hitch, so we've got the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. Just about any type of hitch accessory that they do make for vehicles, they're probably going to have a class three version. Now, when it's time to secure all of those items, you always want to use the hole that's closest to the front of the vehicle, that's a 5/8 diameter hole. You want to pick class three accessories and it looks like, even with that weld there, we're going to have enough room for anti-rattle devices, hitch pins and clips, locking hitch pins, whatever you might choose. The second hole that you see here a little bit closer to the rear, that's for use only with the J-Pin stabilization system. The safety chain connection points have a good opening on them, so you should be able to connect any type of chain. more
