Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for a 2012 Mazda 3 Hatchback
Question:
Looking at the options, cant get all the info I need for the decision on which brand to go with. I like the Rhino and Rola Sport series racks like the broad, flat cross rail design-quieter on the road? and like the post in the middle kayak carrier, or the double J carrier. What are the costs and associated extras needed to make these 2 go together and which do you think would be quieter on the road?

For a roof rack confirmed to fit your 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback with fixed mounting points the Rhino Rack part # RR54GR that you referenced would be a great choice and the one I would go with. The aero style bars will be much quieter than a square bar.
The Kayak Carrier part # S512 that you also referenced would fit this rack as well.
These two components wouldn't require any special adapters or parts to get them to work together. They are completely compatible as-is.
