If I wire a combined system to my tail lights on my 2014 CRV independent from the car brake lights activated by the supplemental breaking system is a brake rely still required?

If the taillights of your 2014 Honda CRV are not being used in conjunction with your tow bar wiring then you would not need to use a brake light relay. Since they are being bypassed a brake light relay like part # RM-88400 would not be needed.
