Installing 7-way Trailer Connector in Stock Location on 2014 Honda Pilot

Question:

I am looking online and like all of your videos on how to install the easiest. I have a 2014 Honda Pilot and the Honda wiring harness part number is 08L91-SZA-100A and is plug and play. When Im reading the reviews online of your 7 way round harness people keep commenting that it doesnt fit in the cutout on the Pilot bumper and they have to cut another hole. Is that accurate? I want it to fit in the Honda cutout and mount to the included metal bracket and not just in the plastic bumper. Thanks!!!

Installing the # 118265 7-way connector would involve using a hole saw to make a hole to mount the trailer connector, if you wish the installation to look like a stock install. I can understand why you'd be reluctant to cut a hole in the bumper of a brand new vehicle. We've had several reviews from folks that simply used a 2 inch hole saw to cut through the bumper, and from what I've read, it didn't sound like a difficult process. I guess you'll need to decide if the extra cost of the Honda part is worth not needing to drill a hole.
