Best Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2013 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

Hello, I have a 2013 Ford F-250 superduty diesel. I am looking for a hitch to be used with a revolution 90 pin box. My truck is a short bed. The trailer weight is 13500 max. I want to have my truck bed flat when not in use. Thank you for you help.

Sounds like you have a Reese Revolution pin box on your trailer. Because of that you would not need a slider hitch to make sharp turns with your short bed truck. Normally on short bed trucks a slider hitch is needed to make sharp turns, but since you have a Revolution pin box you would want a stationary hitch. Whenever possible a stationary hitch is a better option than a slider hitch. Fewer moving parts means a quieter, smoother ride and the hitch will weigh considerably less.

Now if you have the underbed hitch prep package with the 4 pucks in the bed of your truck you would want a Reese M5 Hitch part # RP30921.

If you do not have the hitch prep package you would first need a rail kit. For that I would recommend a custom install kit since they install in about half the time and minimize drilling.

For a custom underbed rail system you would want the part # RP30126. This will basically give you the Ford Hitch Prep package and work well with the # RP30921. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

The correct wedge to use with the hitch I recommended and your Reese Revolution pin box would be the part # RP44FR.
