In order to be able to use a hitch-mounted bike rack on the back of your 2010 Toyota RAV4, you will have to take an easy measurement to make sure it will fit. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure to make sure you clear your spare tire.

You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Hole the straight edge vertically against the back of your spare tire with it extended below the hitch receiver. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the straight edge. This gives you the clearance measurement needed.

The Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack, part # Y02465, measures 6-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin to the closest edge of the bike rack. This bike rack weighs 56 lbs and has a 150 lb weight capacity. This carrier is designed to be used with a 2 inch receiver. I have attached a product review video for this carrier you can check out.

From my research I found that the tongue weight capacity of your RAV4 is approximately 150 lbs. That would be the weight of the bikes added to the weight of any carrier you mount in the hitch, so you will be limited to about 95 lbs plus the weight of the FullSwing carrier.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes, I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the handlebar stem and the seat post and allows the bike to ride more level in the carrier while providing more ground clearance.
