Sway Control Recommendation for Pop-Up Camper with Support Mounts on Tongue

Question:

I have a Rockwood Freedom popup camper for which Id like to install a sway control. Am considering your Reese Friction Sway Control Kit #83660 but I have a question. About 10inch back along the side of the trailers hitch is the support mount for the front bed when extended. It sticks out about 1-1/2inch at its bottom. Im concerned that this will interfere with the sway control on left turns. Do you know if this will cause any problems?

I spoke with my contact at Reese and since the Friction Sway Control Kit, # 83660, has not been tested on a Rockwood Freedom Pop-Up Camper trailer, we can not guarantee that the support mount on your trailer would not interfere with the operation of the sway control system.

If by chance the support is only on the right side of the trailer tongue, the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, # 83660, can be flipped and mounted on the left hand side.

The only sway control option that is guaranteed to work with your camper would be a weight distribution system with built-in sway control. In order to make a recommendation for a system, I would need to know the tongue weight of your camper. I am including a couple of helpful articles that you can take a look at.
