2000 Ford F150 4x4 P265/70 R17 Snow Chain Recommendation
Question:
Have a 2000 F150 4x4 with P265/70 R17 Toyo tires. My son is moving to Boone NC for school, and given the mountain terrain I believe he would definitely benefit from some chains. We live at the beach, so I have no idea what would be best. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated - would like to send him off prepared! Thx

First thing you are going to want to do is check the owners manual of the 2000 Ford F-150 to see if there are any restrictions on snow chain usage.
If you determine you can use chains I would go with the Glacier Tire Chains part # PW3027C if the chains would be just for emergency uses.
If you are looking for a set that would get used quite a bit I would go with the Thule Tire Chains # TH01594267. These will install easier and quicker as well as provide a bit more traction.
