Swing-Away Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Toyota Sienna

Question:

I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna minivan and want to get one of the swing away bike racks to go in our Curt Hitch 2in receiver. Weve seen a review online that the Yakima Full Swing bike racks might interfere with the bumper or minivan. Have you heard/tested this? Id love some advice on what to get. I want to be able to open the hatch back with bikes on the rack.

We have tested the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack, # Y02465, on a 2012 Toyota Sienna and the bike rack did not hit the bumper, but it was pretty close. I have attached the video for you to check out. We have not received any complaints from Sienna owners that these bike racks have hit their bumper, but bumper clearance will also depend on the brand of the trailer hitch that is installed on the fan. For example, A Curt trailer hitch for the Sienna is more recessed under the bumper than a Draw-Tite or Hidden Hitch trailer hitch which will cause bumper clearance issues.

The best way to determine bumper clearance is to measure. You want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the rear edge of your bumper (see photo). That measurement will tell you which bike rack will fit without hitting the bumper. The FullSwing measures 6-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack.
