Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2008 Toyota Sequoia
Question:
I have a 2008 Toyota Sequoia SR5 5.7L w/ a factory installed hitch Class IV and a 4 pin trailer connector. I would like to put a multi-connection on to also accommodate a 7 pin blade round receptacle. What do you suggest? Thank you.

Since you have the 4-way flat installed, I would recommend you install the brake controller 7 & 4 way installation kit, part # ETBC7. This kit includes all of the extra wires, circuit breakers and connectors needed to complete the installation of a 7-Way at the rear of your Sequoia while still retaining the use of the 4-way flat.
The 4-way will plug into the back of the # ETBC7 and there will be 4 wires left to hardwire to the vehicle. White grounds to the vehicle frame. Purple goes to the reverse light circuit. Blue goes to the blue wire on the brake controller (if needed). And black connects to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker.
I you need a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part # 90885.
I have included detailed FAQ links that explain the installation of an # ETBC7 kit. I have also included a video of part # ETBC7 being installed on a 2008 Toyota Tacoma.
